Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder Review

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder Review

Hey my pweettty ladies!!! how is the week going on??? Mine is gloomy- because the climate is all stormy and rainy so I haven’t been out since about 2 weeks and the walks to the store do not count :P:P:P

As the name suggests I’m going to review a compact powder today, which is a MUST HAVE item in any and every vanity case. I mean I always had a compact with me for as far as I can remember – the foundations and concealers came way later!

So I was hitting pan of my fav Chambor RR2 powder and wanted something nice and fresh when the Maybelline FIT Me! range came on TV and they showed all these cute looking models who yelled “Don’t cover me, Fit me!!”  and all that jazz. My ears perked up. We all search for natural looking cosmetics always 😉 so I decided to get this one.

First let me tell you about the whole Fit Me collection. It comes with foundation, pressed powder, concealer, blush, and bronzer. Basically everything you need for the face. It also ranges from light to medium to dark. So anyone, of any complexion should be able to find their color. Pretty cool right? The number of your foundation corresponds with the number on the pressed powder, and concealer. so you donít have to guess what will go with what! and they have 18shades.. so far- I was very impressed!

You get 0.3/oz of powder and it’s $7.99 you can get it in all drugstores, Ulta and Target. I got mine from Target. The packaging is square, but the product is circle. Underneath the powder is a mirror, and a puff. Great for on the go touch ups. The powder is advertised as “natural coverage that leaves skin the way it is meant to be, fresh, breathing and flawless, no oils, no waxes, no nonsense”.

My experience with the Product: I got this in shade#130 – Buff beige which is pretty close to my skin tone. So I happily tried this out on my super oily skin – It felt light and set my tinted moisturizer nicely and gave a matte finish without making me feel as if I have applied a powder. Neither did it give me a whitish or a yellowish caste – so I was all gaga on this and I happily went to a friend’s house!

After one hour or so, I felt a little chik-chik so I checked in the mirror and to my horror I was melting… lol… my face was so damn greasy it looked like butter. and it was not the T.M for sure. I literally had to dab and dab more with tissues to make the oil go. eventually in the next hour I had to wash my face because It made everything smudge – which generally never happens. And Iím talking about a well ventilated and cool house not even outside 🙁

I gave it another try today- this time I have applied it over a moisturizer and I am sitting at home since the past 3-4 hours. my hubby came home from work and the 1st thing to come out of his mouth was- didn’t you take a bath??? :(( *I died there only*
Also, I tried to wash the puff that came along with it and it just fell apart.lol- all the stitches came off!! hahaha- I guess I washed it too hard!

PROS:

– It is lightwieght.
– Color palette is great
– Affordable
– Blends well
– Number system corresponds with each other
– The packaging looks very inviting
– Did not break me out.

CONS:
– The mirror is at the back So you have to constantly flip it to use.
– Makes me super greasy :((
– Makes me look dull too

Overall: This did not fit me 🙁 I need something to make me look fresh. Maybe becuase I’m oily- It MIGHT suit dry skinned ladies. I will give this a try again in the winters.Let’s see if it works then.

Will I recommend or repurchase this? Hell to the No!!!! LOL

I can safely say that I will steer clear of this product if I ever have the misfortune to be in its very presence. :ghost2:
Especially because my skin is rather oily as well. :struggle:

  4. coverage looks good too for the price, have you tried it with a primer on? i guess this is simply not for oily skinned people, wish such criteria are mentioned on foundations itself.
have any of you tried the covergirl clean makeup range?

    1. I dont use a primer as yet but I tried this on foundation, T.M and on my daily light moisturizer… none of the other powders I used did this

  5. Bee that sucks that this made you all greasy and that it came with a cheap puff. :sidefrown: It’s nice that they have a lot of shades to choose from though.

  10. This made your oily skin look even more oily…OMG…. :ghost2: :ghost2: . Even when I apply all oil-free products starting from moisturiser to powder, I look oily after about 2 hours….clicked some FOTD photees to show a lip product to you guys, but since 2 hrs had passed when I took the pics, I am looking like an oil factory…so going to click again when makeup is freshly applied…. 😀
