The makeup world is growing rapidly and I have so many products on my wish-list to experiment with. Bronzers fall into one category that I have been meaning to try out and I knew I could never go wrong with Maybelline. I got this cutie like 2 months ago and now after constant trial and error, I think I have been pretty much comfortable with bronzers, so here I am! Read to know more about this product 🙂
Product Description by Maybelline:
A bronzer that feels light like a powder but melts into the skin like a cream. Pigments blend easily and wear evenly. Provides a natural, fade-proof bronzed colour that leaves skin the way it was meant to be… fresh, breathing and natural.
My Experience with Maybelline Glistening Sun Dream Bouncy Bronzer:
I was pretty much excited to try the “Dream Bouncy” blushes from Maybelline because I love cream blushes, but unfortunately, never got a chance. But how could I miss that range? So, I got the bronzer instead. I am pretty new to bronzers, and this is my second bronzer, so I was not expecting too much. The bronzer comes in a shiny brown pan with a plastic open lid. It is very tiny in size, so will fit anywhere you would want it to.
They have 2 shades called “Glistening Sun” and “Sun Glow,” and I got the former one as that would go well with my skin tone. “Sun Glow” is designed for wheatish/dusky skin tones. The bronzer has a very soft mousse-type consistency, exactly like the dream bouncy blushes or the jelly glow ones.
My finger glides very smoothly on the bronzer, leaving a mark of my finger which would very well describe the soft consistency. It blends well with fingers, I don’t the consistency would go well with a brush. The bronzer has warm orange undertones which actually looked scary when I applied it for the first time. But over the time, I learnt that the mantra is to blend and blend!
It looks very beautiful after blending on my cheekbones. It highlights my cheekbones and nose area very well, making my features more prominent and sharp. It has a metallic sheen to it which gives my face a sun-kissed glow. Yes, it looks a little warm, but looks very stunning. It also looks amazing in pictures. I just wish it had a little less shimmer because they are very noticeable when you look closely. The sad part is that it clings to the dry patches and due to the warm color, makes patches and acne even more noticeable.
Hence, I always have to moisturise my face, and apply a foundation very smoothly which does not look cakey because the natural sun-kissed glow look goes away if the foundation looks artificial. The bronzer stays put for 2 hours, after which it starts to fade, and then finally after around 4 hours, I have shimmers on my cheeks.
Pros of Maybelline Glistening Sun Dream Bouncy Bronzer:
- Comes in a delicate cylindrical travel-friendly pan.
- The consistency of the bronzer is extremely soft, like a mousse, and spreads like a dream on the face.
- Highlights my features beautifully, imparts a natural sun-kissed glow.
- The glow is very much noticeable and doesn’t look fake or made-up.
- Stays for 3-4 hours on my skin; it stays for an hour more with a good primer.
Cons of Maybelline Glistening Sun Dream Bouncy Bronzer:
- Only two shades are available.
- After about a month-and-half of using it, the bronzer cake came out of the pan, and it happened with a lot of other people, hence that’s a packaging error.
- Clings on to the dry patches on the skin.
- The shade is too warm and orange hence you have to keep rest of the makeup minimal or subtle, otherwise you might end up looking like a clown.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Glistening Sun Dream Bouncy Bronzer:
Yes, I will, if you are looking out for a drugstore bronzer and want to learn the trick before investing in a high-end one! I liked it but I know there are better bronzers out there, so I will splurge on them.

Oh no! I feel really disappointed when such good brands sell products with such faulty packaging. It’s as if they do not test at all. I have never tried a shade like this, it’s really pretty.
Exactly.. the entire cake comes out but yet manage.. sometimes it sticks to the lid while opening imagine lol .. this happened in just a few months .. I think they could have afforded a month to test it.. yes it does look very stunning and glows beautifully 🙂
Warm and lovely bronzer but looks too orange. I guess it can also be used as a blush 🙂
Yes I think it looks more orange in the pan.. but blending is the key to achieve the perfect desired shade 🙂 yes I did use it as a blush too and my cheeks were glowing sooo cutely 🙂 🙂
