A liquid eyeliner pen is a must-have for me. It is one product that can help us look classy, trendy, or dramatic according to our fancy. There is a popular saying that “when words fail, eyes speak,” whereas I would say “when eyes are well lined, they speak volumes.” 😛 On that note, let me share the review of this brilliant eyeliner from Maybelline – Hypersharp Power Black liner, which they claim is “one full shade blacker than black.”

My Experience with Maybelline Hypersharp Power Black Liner:

Packaging: Maybelline Hypersharp Power Black liner comes in a sleek and edgy packaging with metallic red cap and wordings. The entire packaging looks glossy.

It is quite a thin and compact eyeliner and is very lightweight. The cap clicks securely. It has a brush tip rather than a felt tip. Its flexible 0.5 mm brush tip helps in getting precise, fine lines for defined eyes.

Texture: It is the blackest black eyeliner.  This eyeliner has a smooth texture and does not flake. It gives neither a matte nor a glossy finish. It is semi-matte with the right amount of shine. It dries super quickly. It is long lasting and smudge proof.  The claim of it being a waterproof liner is not true though. It is just water resistant, so it is easy to remove.

Performance:  Maybelline Hypersharp Power Black liner produces the darkest black lines for super definition. It is true to its claims of providing the intensity we need in one stroke. This liner has a special combination of light-absorbing film and micro-carbon pigments. The 0.5 mm precision tip lets us draw precise lines, either thin or thick, with ease. In short, it is perfect for any kind of eyeliner looks. It does not crease, transfer, or fade, and stays on for more than 8 hours. It is definitely a long-staying eyeliner. I compared its claim of “one full shade blacker than black” with my Colossal liner.

Both the liners look the same, but when rubbed the Colossal liner faded and the Hypersharp Power Black was jet black. It is smudge proof and did not fade at all. It leaves no stain as well. It has an amazing pigmentation. I have no issue of it being not waterproof. It is indeed quite easy to use and remove, on a daily basis.

It is one of the best eyeliners for creating bold, dramatic eyes. Layering is not a problem even though one stroke is enough to get the desired effect. I am quite addicted to this eyeliner that I hardly pick any other eyeliner. Overall, a fantastic eyeliner yet to be launched in India.
