Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

Hello Ladies,

Today, I am reviewing another Maybelline product. It has been in the market for a long time now and a lot has been said about it, so I went ahead and jumped into the bandwagon. I am talking about Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment+ Concealer. I have been using this for almost one month now and I am all ready with my opinion about this product.

Packaging:

It comes in a clear plastic twist up tube with a sponge tip applicator. I like that the tube is convenient to carry around, but getting the product out on sponge can be a hassle.

My Experience with Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer:

For me, one of the trickiest makeup product is an under-eye concealer. Finding the perfect one is a daunting task, you have to look for the perfect color, texture, one that does not crease and so on and after looking at all this, most under eye concealers still end up looking weird. Thus to make my work easy, I look for medium to full coverage foundation that will save me the extra effort, but when I saw everyone going all crazy over this one, I hesitantly bought it to see what all the fuss was about.  My first road block with this product was finding the right color. It comes in 6 shades and it is hard to figure out the color through the packaging. I ended up picking the shade “Neutralizer” because it appeared to have yellow undertone in it. Although that shade is very light for my NC 42 skin, it still works well with my foundation over it.

If you want to just brighten your under-eye area, they do have a shade called “Brightener” for that purpose. Now, let us talk about the packaging, the plastic tube has a sponge applicator at the end and to get the product out on the sponge, you have to twist the red part of the tube. It is really tedious some times when I keep twisting and no product comes out. Otherwise, I like the packaging; the tube is small and can be easily carried around. You can either apply directly from the sponge or swipe your finger on the sponge and then apply it. I apply directly with the sponge just because it is fun to do it like that. I know it is unhygienic to do so, but according to the Maybelline website, the sponge is protected with an anti-microbial system. So, I guess it is safe. What I like about this concealer is its consistency which is very thin. It is very easy to blend. I find the thicker ones are difficult to blend and end up looking cakey. This one does not look cakey or settle into creases.

The coverage is pretty decent but if you have very dark circles, then you will need something more than this. The website advises to use the shade neutralizer for very dark circles and then apply your matching shade concealer over it. I am not sure how well that works because I haven’t tried using two shades yet. The staying power is very good; it stays 7-8 hours on me. It can get a little drying; applying on a well-moisturized skin will help in smooth application of the product. I don’t have puffy eyes, so I cannot comment on the claims that it reduces puffiness. Also, the product claims that it is a treatment formula and it fades dark circles, I have not noticed any changes in my under eye area in past month and I don’t even expect any concealer to do that. I actually like using this concealer, but I still have to find my right shade.

    1. Hi Mayuri
It does not leave any cast .. The shade i have is very light for me but after blending it does not show up white ,instead it brightens my under eye area a little bit.
