Hello everyone,

I will be reviewing my most-beloved eyeliner today. I love gel eyeliners, they are highly pigmented, easy to maneuver, but the only thing I don’t like is the need of using a brush. I always wanted gel eyeliner in a pen form and then my prayers were answered when I stumbled upon Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Gel Eyeliner Pen in Boots, London. It is a clear dupe of Benefit Push Up Gel Eyeliner, but the Maybelline one was released way before Benefit Push Up Liner.
Product Description:

All Day smudge-proof drama in a pen. In the mood for drama? With just one click, frame your eyes with smooth bold lines for an intense look that lasts.

My Experience with Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner – Black Shock:
Maybelline lasting drama gel eyeliner pen comes in a black pen like form. I wish makeup companies could come up with fun colours other than black when it comes to pen eyeliner packaging. To dispense the product, you need to twist the base a few times. When I first used it, I had to twist the base 10 times till the product came out.
The applicator/nib of the pen is slanted, so it is very easy to do winged eyeliner, perfect for beginners. It also came with a stopper which is brilliant, less chances for the product to dry out, but the stopper was so small that I lost it.
Maybelline gave full justice to the name “Black Shock,” it is an intensely dark, blackest black color. Just one stroke gives the perfect colour. No need to layer it at all. It is water proof and smudge proof. It hardly takes 15 seconds to dry, but once it is set, it won’t budge at all. Even if you rub your eyes, it won’t smear around. You need a good bi-phased makeup remover or baby oil to get this eyeliner completely removed. I have sensitive eyes and it didn’t irritate my eyes if I applied it to my waterline. So, you can use it as a kajal without any fear. I wore it for a wedding and it stayed on me for about 6+ hours without any fading or smudging.
If I compare Maybelline gel eyeliner pen to the Maybelline gel eyeliner that comes in a pot, the only difference is the formula. The gel eyeliner pen is a little more gel in consistency as compared to the traditional one. Pigmentation wise both are the same. So if you’re a beginner at gel eyeliner, I would definitely suggest you to go with the pen form.
