I am back with another review 😀 and this time it is one of our favorite gel liners. Well, it’s holiday and party season, so our eyes too need their share of shimmer and glitter :D. I mostly use black eye liners (well, most of funky colors doesn’t suit me much 🙁 ). And gray shade doesn’t show up much on my dark lids and makes me look older, and we ladies definitely don’t want that!! 😛 So, I picked this color on my recent eyeliner hunt. 😉 I have seen a lot of tempting reviews for gel liners, but didn’t try any (I love my felt tip liners) hence this is my first gel liner. Gel liners are not new in makeup world, but I am starting to use them now, late bloomer. 🙁 Anyway, let’s move onto the review.

My Experience with Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner By Eye Studio in Charcoal:
Maybelline lasting drama gel liner by eye studio comes in a couple more shades which are already reviewed here on IMBB. Today, I bring for you the shade “Charcoal.” The Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner comes in a thick glass jar with a black plastic cap. The jar is triple in size as compared to the actual product that comes inside. 😛 But it is sturdy and survived when I dropped it accidentally, so plus points for that. 😀 It comes with a brush which is pretty small in size and decent quality. The bristles are firm, soft and not scratchy at all. It is flat and tapered, but I find it a bit difficult in getting thin lines with it, I guess some more practice is needed 😛 but it’s great to create a cat eye look. The brush also has a plastic cover which keeps your brush intact while traveling with it.
Now, the showstopper – the liner :D. The shade “Charcoal” is a shimmery dark, slate gray shade with tiny silver sparkles. The glitter particles are not huge but very very minute and give a subtle sparkly finish, definitely not matte, which is great for the party season. Hence, this shade is not too apt for office wear.
The liner has very creamy, smooth texture and is very easy to apply. It glides on easily on my lids and stays there, primer or no primer! I have not tried it for 24 hours, but for 12 hours it did stay put, no fading, smudging or flaking. I even washed my face (with water) and the liner did not budge.
The shade can be used as bold or with a light hand. The color is pigmented but is not too opaque and the intensity can be built easily without the liner looking cakey. Also, it does need a bit of time to dry completely, so you can easily smudge it to get the smokey eyes. I have the terrible habit of touching my eyes every now and then, but this doesn’t smudge a bit. Also, I applied this near my tear duct area and it didn’t irritate my sensitive eyes and stayed there too, all day long. It comes off easily with my Body Shop Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. I am loving this liner. 😀
