Maybelline Lip Polish – Pop 5 Review

I recently did a huge online shopping haul. I bought a lot of things and I will be reviewing them soon on IMBB one by one. I gifted myself and my best friend (a girl) a few cosmetics for this Valentine’s and I am feeling so happy for that. It actually feels good to surprise others with gifts :D. Here is yet another lip polish from Maybelline in the shade Pop 5. Today, I am going to review POP 5 from Maybelline.

Product Description:
Potent Colour Extracts: Pure saturated colour pigments that provide deep, intense colour like a lipstick. Concentrated Liquid Balm: Moisturizing liquid conditioning balm gets the lips ready for intensely rich colour. Gives a soft cushiony feel and care to the lips. Glossy Shine Serum: Built-in glossy top coat, that makes lips look fuller and more luscious. Specially designed leaf-shaped applicator which makes application quick and precise.
Instructions For Use:
Apply lip colour with applicator wand starting in the centre of your upper lip. Work from the centre to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.
My Experience with Maybelline Lip Polish – Pop 5:
I have been eyeing these lip polishes ever since I saw them on IMBB. Finally, I laid my hands on these pretty lip polishes. I bought 3 of these – pop 5, glam 2 and glam 3.
Packaging:
The packaging is quite cute and sturdy. It actually looks like a lipstick, but it is not. It is a tinted, semi solid lip stain. The applicator is quite cute.
Product and Texture:
The product is a semi solid, little sticky gloss. The product is soft and glides on the lips well. It does not have any shimmer in it. Two swipes will be enough for a single use. If we apply too much, it will start bleeding. I feel these are mildly sticky (not too much, just a little).
Colour:
Pop 5 is an adorable cute bubblegum pink colour. When I first opened it, I was not sure if I can carry off this colour. But when I applied it on my lips, it just glided smoothly, giving a super cute pink stain to the lips. It just needs 2 good swipes to show the colour.
Fragrance:
No fragrance at all.
Staying Power:
The lip stain gets transferred to crockery, but this actually survives a small meal and stays on the lips for 3 to 4 hours and the lips carry that pink stain for another 1 to 2 hours easily.
Pigmentation:
I have pigmented lips and this gives a slight coverage. This lip polish may not give a good coverage for highly pigmented lips. In the lip swatches, I wore this on my lips and also on Maybelline Berry Brilliant lipstick.
Pros of Maybelline Lip Polish – Pop 5:
- Cute, adorable, travel friendly packaging.
- No shimmer.
- Very nice pink colour.
- Fair skinned ladies can easily carry off the colour.
- Very creamy texture.
- It actually enhances lips a bit, I feel this gives the perfect pout.
- Decent staying power.
Cons of Maybelline Lip Polish – Pop 5:
- Expensive, INR 450/- for 5 ml ;(
- Slight tingling sensation for a few seconds initially upon application.
- This particular shade needs to be more pigmented. Ladies with highly pigmented lips will find it difficult to wear.
IMBB Rating:
I quite like it, I will give it a 4/5.
Do I Repurchase Maybelline Lip Polish – Pop 5?
I want to stock a few more colours (apart from what I own) from this range, but would not repurchase this shade again.

Yeah Lisha! the shade is prettyyy. And thankoo for the compliment. But when I applied it on my lips and asked my friend to click for me, she said- the shade luks yuk on ur lips(as my lips are pigmented). I know tht was rudeeee . But I was like- Gal! Thts none of ur business to comment on wht n hw I luk (i dint tell her though) *hunterwali* . I took my selfies and thy came pretty awesome:D.
