My Experience with Maybelline Lip Studio My My Magenta Color Blur Cream Matte Pencil and Smudger:
Packaging:
Maybelline has come up with amazing concept of smudging and blurring the color on lips by making the unique double ended tube. Its one side has a twist up lip crayon and other side has a smudger, which is supposedly made up of rubber. Maybelline is spreading the Korean and Japanese idea of lip color application to the US, but still not in India. The shade number and name are printed on the tube itself. Maybelline has done pretty good with the name of these lippies too.
Texture:
It has a phenomenal texture which is super creamy and pigmented. It has a silicon feel to it which makes it slip on the lips. This also makes it very lightweight. The lip crayon is very fragile in nature. It tends to break if not handled carefully. It is a retractable crayon, and doesn’t need to be sharpened.
Pigmentation:
These lippies are superbly pigmented as one swipe gives complete opacity, no matter how pigmented our lips are. I have quite pigmented lips myself, and do not find the need to apply a second coat of lipstick.
Shade and Finish:
Now a days, I am getting more addicted to lip crayons and lip pencil as, according to me, these are more easy to apply. Also, due to lesser quantity, it can be finished off without product wastage. My My Magenta is beautiful purple color with hint of pink tone in it. It is very close to MAC Flat Out Fabulous and almost appears the same on lips. This shade immediately brightens up the face even with no makeup. All the shades in this range are intense and highly pigmented. The application has a silicone feel to it and the lip color glides like butter. The cherry on cupcake is that it does not budge and sets quickly .
It does not become transfer proof, but do not transfer a tonne like most of the creamy lipstick either. With span of time, it doesn’t bleed or feather, and stays intact on lips. The smudger can be good for those who love to have just a hint of color on the lips The lipstick is so creamy to work with that while smudging, it doesn’t tug the lips. Due to its creamy texture, my lips remain hydrated for an hour after which dry patches begin to appear on my lips.
Longevity:
Longevity has always been my concern for lippies, and this one really makes me happy with its performance. The best part is that once set, it transfer minimally; mostly if I eat. But when I have my beverages, it does not transfer. It stays on for 6 hours with eating and drinking. It fades slightly from the centre of my lips after a meal, but most of the lip color remains intact. It fades completely after 8 hours, but leaves a prominent stain.
