My Experience with Maybelline Lustrous Sapphire Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil:
Packaging: This gel pencil comes in a white packaging in which it has product description, price and ingredient list mentioned. The gel pencil comes in a sturdy color-coded plastic packaging with a clear cap. The cap does not close with a click and I am afraid it may not be travel friendly. It is a sharpenable pencil, which I feel is good because there won’t be any bacteria buildup, but it may be a con for some. This pencil does not come with a sharpener. I sharpen it with my Lakme sharpener and there is no problem in sharpening.
Shade: “Lustrous Sapphire” is a deep vivid blue color with a matte finish. It looks gorgeous on brown eyes and would suit a wide range of skin tones.
Pigmentation and Texture: This pencil has great pigmentation in one swipe, it deposits maximum colour. You can refer to the hand swatch and upper lid for the same. For maximum pigmentation in the waterline, it requires a maximum of two swipes.
The texture of the pencil is really smooth and it glides on without any tugging or pulling. Since there is no shimmer particles, it doesn’t the irritate eyes. I wear contact lens and I have very sensitive eyes and this pencil doesn’t feel heavy on my eyes or irritate my eyes, so contact lens users and people with sensitive eyes can wear this gel pencil without any problem. Since the texture is smooth, it is difficult to draw sharp winged eyeliner.
Longevity: I have oily eyelids and watery eyes. This eyeliner stays on my eyes for 5 to 6 hours without any uneven smudging. And also, in hot and humid climate, it doesn’t for long. It can be removed completely with the help of a regular makeup remover or any oil-based remover.
