Maybelline M202 Firecracker Red Color Show Creamy Matte Lipstick Review

Today’s review will be on Maybelline’s Color Show Lipstick in M202 Firecracker Red. I’ve never owned any Color Show lipstick before this one, and so it was about time I did because of the amazing reviews here on IMBB. I picked up 5 of them, blindly seeing the swatches on some lady’s hand. Let’s get started with the review!

My Experience with Maybelline M202 Firecracker Red Color Show Creamy Matte Lipstick:

Packaging: These lipsticks come in the same packaging as the normal ColorShow ones. But, it is matte black to indicate that the product is matte. The plastic it comes with bears all the information about the product which isn’t much except the pricing and ingredients. The red band indicates that the lipstick inside is some shade of red. I like how classy it looks, but wish there was a ‘Maybelline’ logo. But, never mind! The packaging is nice, sturdy and travel friendly as it is.

Color/Pigmentation: When I saw the orange shade swatch on the lady’s hand, I thought it would be ‘Orange Icon‘. But the S.A. told me that this is a new shade. I immediately picked it up. It’s rare to get a good orange shade that Raeesa has not reviewed! It’s a red based orange and is the perfect kind of shade if you want to venture into the ‘orange lipstick’ zone, but are kind of nervous to do it. It looks red in different lighting and looks reddish-orange under sunlight. The pigmentation is bang on! Love, love, love the shade and the pigmentation!!

Texture: I really love matte lipsticks that are creamy and glide on easily. This one falls in that category. It’s smooth, glides on easily, does not highlight dry patches and slightly moisturizes the lips. I really love the texture of it.

Staying Power: It stays on for a good 5 hours or so on me. you do have to reapply it after 3 hours or so. It fades slightly with meals in between, but that’s okay. Thankfully, it doesn’t leave a stain behind.

Smell/Taste: It has a pleasant and very mild fragrance to it which is barely noticeable. And, once you put on the lipstick, you cannot even smell it. It has no taste whatsoever.

• Love the matte black packaging
• Superb shade
• Nicely pigmented
• Moisturizes the lips
• Smooth and creamy; love the texture
• Decent staying power
