I have been searching for a deep brown brow pencil for a few days. Recently, I found this Maybelline Master Shade Deep brown brow pencil. It turned out worth buying for my skin tone. Let’s get into the details.

My Experience with Maybelline Master Shape Deep Brown Brow Pencil:

The brow pencil comes with an outer paper packaging which contains all the details. It is a sharpen-able wooden pencil with dual ends. One end has the pencil tip with a clear cap and other end has a nice small spoolie which also has a clear cap.

I really like this hygienic packaging and spoolie is really good shaped which smoothly goes into each and every hair on brows. This small pencil is totally travel-friendly, hence I can carry in my purse. There is no sharpener included in the packaging which is a negative side but any normal sharpener can be used nicely.

As far as I know, it’s available in three shades like blonde, soft brown & deep brown. I have the shade deep brown 260 which a good medium-deep brown shade. It is not the deepest brown one but perfect for my skin tone. I have brown brows so I am totally satisfied with it. It never makes me look like a joker. It gives soft, fluffy brown look which suits black to brown brows well. Shade is nicely pigmented and needs a light-handed application.

Texture is really soft and smooth; can easily enter every single root and gap in the brows. It leaves a soft, natural finishing on the brows. It has slightly waxy texture which helps to hold the brows in place. Spoolie works great to blend all the products. No harsh edges are noticeable after using this spoolie.

Size of the spoolie is quite different than others and for its small size it works with one stroke. I like to apply the pencil first and define my brows shape with it and then fill up rest of the brow. After that I smudge all the edges with the help of this spoolie. Overall this job is so easy to fill up my brow and it takes very less time. Pencil is quite small & texture is soft enough that it needs to be sharpened frequently and for that it will not last long.

My eyebrows look well groomed for quite decent amount of time. It stays nicely up to 5hrs on my oily skin. Generally, I sweat like crazy, and still it stays on my brows for quite long. Formula is not 100% smudge proof & water proof but it never looks messy. It starts fading after 4-5hrs. But it doesn’t move around the eyes which is nice. And the texture holds my brows really long, even after the color fades.

Yes for both.
Conclusion: Overall I like the shade and pigmentation which really looks nice on me. But staying power could have been little better. The formulation is quite similar with Colorbar Chestnut Brow Pencil but that one is really long pencil. Still I like its spoolie most. I will never throw its spoolie.
