Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick: 08 Chocolate Temptation
We all know how much we love “Maybelline Moisture Extreme” lipsticks. When the “Color Sensational” range came out, nothing excited me as much as good old “Moisture Extreme” lipsticks every time I visited Maybelline counter. It hit me very late that Moisture Extreme too came out with a nice “Color Sensational Moisture Extreme” range with gorgeous shades as well. I love each and very shade that I have from this range except perhaps “Sierra Sunset,” which doesn’t do anything much for my skin tone. See my earlier reviews on Chestnut, Burgundy, Caramel Cream, Bonbon Caramel, and some more moisture extremes to know why I love these shades so much.
Chocolate Temptation is again very close to perhaps something like Chestnut or say the nude shades of Caramel Cream and Bonbon Caramel. All fall into the “almost” nude family or next best thing to nude :P, but each shade is irresistible. The thing with these nudes is that you can never have enough because you know they will be used up sooner or later to office, grocery shopping or weekends. I end up using more of such shades on days I don’t know what lipstick to wear.
I do agree many shades form the range may be overlapping, but that is what makes me drool over these each time I go there. For Rs. 220, it really doesn’t hurt much to get such a wearable lipstick and once they even had an offer where they were giving out a third lipstick free on the purchase of two :stars: The SA knows lesser about this range than I do :haanji:
I was surprised to see that the review on this shade is not up on IMBB yet, as such nude shades are always a hit. I know many you have this shade and perhaps on your second or third tube, but still, I thought I must share it.
The lipstick falls somewhere between the sheer to cream category I would say. It doesn’t feel thick at all and is very light to wear. The finish is moisturising to glossy and one coat will really be MLBB. I swipe it at least thrice to get some color out of it. Otherwise, it looks quite sheer on me.
The color is a soft brick brown, but like I said, the color feels quite sheer, so its ideal for day wear or office wear. The lipstick on a closer look has very fine and mild silver shimmer to it due to which it looks somewhat glazy, very light though. The only problem I find with this one is that I wish such a lovely shade was thicker and more opaque as my lips literally drink this up soon. The staying power is not so impressive for me, I like thicker and creamier lipsticks, but still I love the shade.
Last Word on Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick: 08 Chocolate Temptation
The shades from this range are so damn good. This lipstick is somewhat sheer like the NYX round lipsticks, soft, creamy, but mildly pigmented with a moisturising finish. If you are a fan of sheer nude lipsticks but which have average staying power, you may try this one. Also consider Caramel Cream, Chestnut and Bonbon Caramel, all reviewed on IMBB.

Such a lovely color but it looks different on lips than on the swatch.. maybe its the effect of lights..
