Review , swatch and LOTD of Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick “dusk” #824
Hi girls, I was missing the action on IMBB for the past few days as my internet connection was down 🙁 but today am back again with a review. 🙂 This lipstick is from the moisture extreme range from Maybelline. I love the creamy formulation of this range and this lipstick is from my maasi’s collection who is more into browns than pinks. Read on to find out how it fared my test 😛
Price and quantity: Rs. 220 for 4.2 gm ( the price may have increased now. This is what she had bought it with.
Pigmentation , texture and staying power: The shade is from the brown family. It is a mix between brown and beige.The shade is a disappointing one. Although my maasi has a very fair complexion and I have a fair to wheatish complexion, it washed all color from our faces. It looks very dull. My maasi just uses it as a moisturizing base for other darker colored lipsticks. So if you like face brightening colors in lipsticks, this is a total no-no! as for the texture, it is to die for. The only good part about the lipstick is that true to its claim, it does give a moisture boost to lips. You will not need any lipbalm underneath the lipcolor. The staying power, like all creamy lipstick, is not much. It stays on for about 3 hours without meals. But even after fading it doesn’t stain lips or settle in lines . 🙂

Pros:
1. Quite affordable
2. Very moisturizing and creamy
3. No weird smell
4. Does not settle into lines
5. Does not stain lips.
Cons:
1. This particular shade will be very difficult to pull off
2. Staying power not much
Will I repurchase it? I will not buy this shade, but definitely other ones from this range for the texture
Do I recommend it? No

Hi aparajita good morning. nice revu and lipstick. Brown color always looks so tempting to me but when applied to face it doesnt go as i wanted. i like it on ur lips but as it washes out face so its a no-no for me.

yes parita.. it would go well with heavy smoky eyes.. but only for those occasions where you want your lips to be totally understated 🙂
My fav Range… I have so many of these lipsticks 🙂 So many choices..This is one pretty color…Since my complexion is Dusky , this might wash me off.. but will check this color for sure 🙂
the range is really great sawthi! 🙂 but this color will wash out everyone irrespective of complexion. i don’t know why they made such a shade 🙁
