This post will bring to your kind attention one of the most successful launches by Maybelline New York in Indian market. Yes I am totally talking about Maybelline New York Color Show Nail Paints. I know, I know I am a tad bit late. Most of you probably own half the colours from this range (like me). But probably this post will be helpful to some who have not gone through the whole range.

I am totally gaga over these. Affordable range, stunning colours, good texture..What more could a girl ask for!! So thank you Maybelline for bringing these beauties to us.

Maybelline Claims: Stay right on trend from your tips to your toes with new Maybelline Color Show. Our gel based formula with color popping pigments, comes in 40 bold, super stylish shades that look great on nails. So go on, mix, match and make the most of color.

Price: 75 INR for 6 ml.

Shelf Life: 36 months.

Directions for Use: To begin with apply a clear base coat to prevent your nails from yellowing. It also helps your nail colour last longer. Paint the first line of nail polish from the centre of your nail starting from the base to the tip. Leave a small space at the base of the nail to get a clean look. Then apply nail colour to the rest of the nail.

Packaging: The nail paints come in cute, cylindrical glass bottles with black cap. The colour of the shade pops out of the glass bottle. The name and number of the shade is written on the top the cap.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Show Nail Paints:

Applicator: The brush/applicator is dense and easy to use, depositing just the right quantity of product on the nails. It does not leave brush marks on the nails like some nail paint brushes do.

Texture: The texture of these nail paints is creamy, neither too runny nor too thick, just the right texture for beautiful non-streaky application.

Pigmentation: Despite the price, the pigmentation is also great. One coat gives opaque coverage but two coats bring out the true colour. You do not need to resort to a third coat at all.

Staying Power: The lasting power of these nail paints is quite decent. Like any other nail paints, these last for about 5-6 days before it starts to fade. Chipping can be seen after 3-4 days. I generally change my nail paint colour every week so I cannot really comment on how long these take to completely disappear from the nails.

Shades Being Reviewed in This Post:

Coral Craze-211: Ahhh..here it is, the boon of a lady’s existence. As it is coral, it is bound to be a beautiful colour and Oh my word! It absolutely is. It is not bright-in-your face coral but a really standout-subdued coral leaning more towards peach than pink.

Shocking Seas-303: Nice name. This shade may come across as loud but believe me, it is a beautiful dark blue color that really brings a dose of sea on your nails.

Sweet Sunshine-405: As the name says, this shade is a true sunshine yellow colour, bright and peppy. But warning, this shade stained my nails without a base coat.

Nude skin-015: Yes n*de lovers, this shade will fit your bill and dil ( ha! Rhyming). This is a n*de shade as the name depicts but dark n*de, different from the other n*de nail paint I reviewed a few days back (Caramel melt), but in no way less beautiful.

• Lasts for a good 6-7 days before fading.
