How are you doing today? I am back again to share a budget friendly kohl purchase with you all which unfortunately came out as a dud. I love Maybelline for their price worthy and top notch quality beauty products especially after trying their Color Elixirs and Color Whisper products but sadly this time their master kajal failed to prove its worth.

Packaging: These creamy kohl liners come in conical pointed pen packaging with transparent safety cap like our traditional lakme or other ancient exclusive kajals.. 😛 I would have appreciated a retractable packaging, however it is still good over wooden pencils which need sharpener after every use. I believe it’s quite user friendly and travel friendly packaging.

My Experience with Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Kajal Eyeliner In Purple Dusk:

Well I own another gorgeous shade from this series and quite happy with it unlike this particular “Purple Dusk” and I thought of sharing the dud first.. 😛 The shade was so gorgeous and intense that I could not resist getting it, but once trying it at home I was quite disappointed to see it was kind of dried and not creamy as the other liner.

I exclusively bought it for my waterline and it does not come up very fine on my waterline, forget about eye lids it won’t show up on eye lids without multiple strokes and slight tugging-pulling.

I have nothing to talk about the shade, since I could hardly wear it on my eyes and it is sitting idle on my dressing table. However, the shade looked bright eggplant purple to me with cream finish at first sight, though it did not come out nicely on my eyes anywhere. I tried rubbing pencil many times on my palms to make the tip blunt and smoother, but it still behaves same. It is still slight drying and forms lumps on my waterline which is a serious nay for me. I have no idea if the packaging was old or this particular shade is odd one out, but this is certainly not my kind of kohl.

I don’t think its long wear time or smudge free property has anything to do with our interest in this purchase because if the texture is not wearable and soft then other vitals seem useless according to me. I would say better check the product in store itself if possible before getting it. I won’t recommend this particular shade but in general Maybelline Master Kajal Liners are quite decent for price as I own one more shade from this range which is quite good and way better than this Purple Dusk.

Pros of Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Kajal Eyeliner In Purple Dusk:

• A no poke cone with retractable free and sharpening free packaging
• It seem intense pigmented with shimmer free finish
• Maybelline master kajal liners in general have decent wear time and intense pigmentation
• In general these master kajal liners are water proof and soft on waterline
• A mess free packaging with no hustle bustle of sharpening and/or pointing the tip

Cons of Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Kajal Eyeliner In Purple Dusk:

• This particular shade “Purple Dusk” is just opposite of what the company claims
• It is not intense creamy and soft on our waterline
• It forms lumps while sliding through waterline
• Since the product is exposed to air with simple cap it might be bothering in terms of product hygiene

Would I Repurchase/ Recommend Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Kajal Eyeliner In Purple Dusk?

Well I am surprised to hold two different opinions for same Master Kajal products. I don’t think I would check it again. Personally I can only suggest leaving Purple Dusk and checking out other shades which are true to claim. I loved this shade and planning to get it in some other brand preferably kohl pencil.
