My Experience with Maybelline REB08 Colorsensational Rebel Bouquet Lipstick:

The packaging of the lipstick is beautiful. It comes in a rectangular shaped tube wrapped in a cellophane paper bearing the product description, ingredients list, and the brand’s tagline on it. The tube has a mirror finish and it closes with a long red-colored plastic cap. The brand name or any product related info is not printed on this cap.

The cap shuts tightly making an audible click sound and does not slip off easily. The base of the tube bears a color-coded sticker showing the shade number and other details. I prefer to store my lipsticks upside down to easily spot the shade during rush hours. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.

“REB08” is a soft muted pink lipstick, which is suitable for fairer skin tones. The lipstick does not contain any shimmer or glitter. It has a soft semi-matte kind of finish. This is a great everyday shade that can be pulled off easily at anytime of the day. If you are someone who does not dare wear any bold shades for everyday use, you will surely wanna start doing so with this one. It can be easily worn to college or office.

It looks subtle on the lips and brightens up the face instantly. This is a perfect summery shade. In terms of pigmentation, this lipstick is average. I expected it to be highly pigmented but it is actually not. It gives sheer color in one swipe and it requires layering to build up the actual color. This lipstick is capable of hiding mild pigmentation of the lips but it can not conceal extremely pigmented lips.

The texture of the lipstick is smooth but not super creamy or buttery smooth. It glides over the lips smoothly but it may cause a little tugging or pulling of the lips when the lips are super dry. It clings to the dry patches of the lips and highlights them so much. Therefore, prepping the lips well is advisable before applying this lipstick. The color does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.

The texture is slightly thick and heavy. So, it feels like the lipstick is sitting on the lips, but I am glad that the formula is not sticky or waxy kind. The formula has some average moisturization properties and it does not keep my lips hydrated for long. So, I prefer using a lip balm beneath every time I use this lipstick otherwise my lips get super dry at the end of the day.

The lasting power is of the lipstick is average. It lasts for 2.5-3 hours only. Due to its creamy formula, this lipstick transfers a lot. It also does not survive meals and fades away from the center of the lips leaving an outline behind. Overall, I will really not appreciate this range from Maybelline much.
