I had picked two lipsticks “REB08” and REB09 from Maybelline’s Rebel Bouquet Range. Today, I would be reviewing “REB09” for all of you 🙂

My Experience with Maybelline REB09 Colorsensational Rebel Bouquet Lipstick:

The packaging of this lipstick is beautiful. It comes in a rectangular shaped tube wrapped in a cellophane paper bearing the product description, ingredients list on it. The tube has a mirror finish and closes with a long red-colored plastic cap.

The cap shuts tightly making an audible click. The base of the tube has a color-coded sticker showing the shade number and other details. I prefer storing my lipsticks upside down to easily spot the shade and a color-coded sticker helps me in this context. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.

“REB09” is a bright hot pink shade. It is a typical fuchsia pink lipstick with cool undertones. This lipstick does not have any shimmer or glitter, but it has a bluish sheen to it. This color is bright and not for the weak hearted. It instantly brightens up my dull face and makes me look brighter.

It has a soft semi-matte kind of finish in it. Though, it looks slightly creamy initially, it settles down to a soft semi-matte finish. This is great for parties but it is too bright for everyday use. Summers are approaching and these types of pink shades are perfect to flaunt. In terms of pigmentation, this lipstick is good. It gives semi-opaque coverage in a single swipe. So, the color is easily buildable and it hides all the pigmentation of the lips perfectly.

The texture of the lipstick is smooth but not super creamy or buttery smooth. It glides over the lips smoothly but it may cause a little tugging or pulling of the lips when the lips are super dry. It clings to the dry patches of the lips and highlights them so much. Therefore, prepping up lips is advisable before applying this lipstick. The color settles into the fine lines of the lips after meals.

The texture is slightly thick and heavy. So, it feels like the lipstick is sitting on the lips, but I am glad that the formula is not very sticky or waxy. This lipstick has average moisturization properties and it does not keep my lips hydrated for long. So, I prefer using a lip balm beneath every time I use this lipstick, otherwise my lips get super dry and flaky at the end of the day.

The lasting power is of the lipstick is average. It lasts for 3-4 hours on my lips with continuous sipping of water. Due to its creamy formula, this lipstick has a tendency to transfer. It also does not survive heavy meals and fades away from the center of the lips.
