Hello beauties!
Today, I will be reviewing the new Kohl Kajal from Colossal in Smoked Silver. I was really excited about it before I saw its real shade. It’s more like a gray eyeliner, I know the fancy words for gray are smoked silver but still, my expectations dropped low after I saw the real shade.
Price :
₹249 but I got it for ₹225 from the local beauty store.
Features
1) New colossal kohl kajal in smoked silver (a.k.a. gray kajal 😛 )
2) Comes in a Yellow stick/tube just like the other Colossal kajals.
3) Retractable Pencil (like the others).
4) Manufactured in China.
5) Shelf Life – 3 years (I’m guessing because there is no manufacturing date/year).
My Take On Maybelline Smoked Silver Colossal Kohl :
I asked my friend to pick it up for me from our local beauty store. She got it on a discounted rate . I’m not really impressed by it maybe because I’m more of a shiny person and I don’t like dull, dark colours (if you get what I mean). The application is smooth and the staying power is good. It does start to smudge after a little while but then that’s okay. The kajal is lightly pigmented so you need to swipe it 3-4 times before you get that “look”. It’s a wonderful shade for those party nights but I feel they should’ve released it in November/December as the shade would suit the winter parties a lot more. Anyway, it’s a good kohl kajal and I don’t have any complaints with it (except the shade!!!) You should go for it if you’re a party girl because it obviously isn’t work-environment friendly. Also, the shade might not suit some colours that you wear. Maybelline is a trusted brand and the Colossal kajal is loved by many, so obviously there are no issues with this product, there’s nothing bad that I can say about it because I myself am a Maybelline lover (although, I will accept I am a little disappointed thanks to the shade). I’ll be giving it to my mom because she loves these kind of colours 🙂
Strengths of Maybelline Smoked Silver Colossal Kohl :
- Smooth application.
- Nice, smoky look especially for parties.
- Inexpensive.
- Easily available.
- Good staying power.
Flaws of Maybelline Smoked Silver Colossal Kohl :
- Light pigmentation (see the picture, 1 swipe v/s 3-4 swipes).
- Not exactly silver (more of a gray shade).
- Might smudge initially.
- Monotonous packaging (like Lakme Eyeconic).
- Not an office-friendly shade.
Conclusion on Maybelline Smoked Silver Colossal Kohl :
It’s a good kohl kajal and gives a nice smoky look to the eyes. You should get it if you like the shade is all I would say 😀
IMBB Rating :
4/5.
Would I Recommend Maybelline Smoked Silver Colossal Kohl ?
Yes, if you like the color 🙂
Would I Repurchase Maybelline Smoked Silver Colossal Kohl ?
Nope, I didn’t like the fact that it’s more of gray than silver.
Hope you found my review helpful 🙂 Thank You for reading!
