Maybelline came out with their version of liquid lipsticks called Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lip colors. From this range, I picked up the shade “Fighter.” So, let’s see how this lipstick fared for me.

My Experience with Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Lip Color Fighter:

Packaging: The Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink lipstick comes in a rectangular plastic tube with a white cap. The colour of the lipstick shade is similar the colour of the tube. The applicator is leaf shaped with a dip in between that holds the lipstick so that you don’t need to dip in twice to cover the whole lips. The applicator is great to get a sharp and crisp line and to fill in the corner of the lips. Overall, I really like the packaging of this liquid lipstick. It is sturdy and travel friendly.

Shade and Finish: “Fighter” is a brownish-orange shade with a warm undertone. This shade is a classic 90’s brown shade. This shade is suitable for all Indian skin tones. This lipstick is an everyday wearable lip shade. The finish is budge-proof, smudge-proof, and matte, which is very comfortable to wear.

Texture and Application: The texture of this liquid lipstick is a bit mousse-y and thick with a creamy consistency. The lipstick when first applied has a sticky consistency to it. The lipstick stays sticky for a while after which it dries to complete matte liquid lipstick. The lipstick has a chocolate cookie fragrance to it, which is pleasant, and fades away soon. The application is pretty easy too. The texture is soft and it glides very easily on the lips. The lipstick does accentuate the lip lines once dry. It will also accentuate dry patches, so you need to exfoliate the lips before using this liquid lipstick. The lipstick glides smoothly without tugging or pulling.

Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives a full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.

Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 10 hours without the need to reapply. However, it will start to fade if you eat super oily meals. Compared to other liquid lipstick in my collection, this liquid lipstick has the best longevity.

Overall, I am really happy with the colour pay off, the texture and the longevity of the lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
