Maybelline Superstay 10 hr Stain Gloss Refreshing Red Review

I used to love glosses and lipsticks, but I now love lip stains! Because they last super long and don’t need any frequent touch-ups. Who doesn’t like rich matte lips? I have been on a hunt for some good lip stains because then I can roam around care-free with a pop of color on my lips. I found some good shades in Maybelline. Here is one red shade for all you guys 🙂

My Experience with Maybelline Superstay 10 hr Stain Gloss Refreshing Red:

My eyes were on these cute lip stains for a long time and now finally, I have them in my hands 😛 There were so many options, but my obsession these days with red didn’t let me go beyond the red shades.  There are a total of 9-10 shades. This lip stain comes in a fat outward curved bottle which is a little bigger than the size of the palm. It will easily fit into a small makeup pouch too. The colour of the lid is the same color as the tint inside and that makes it very easy to differentiate the shades if you have multiples of these in your stash.

The wand has a circular shape and the moment I started applying, the wand broke! The stick and the wand got separated, as you can see the picture. This was not expected from Maybelline, such a bad packaging! I had to take my lip brush to apply this. The consistency is pigmented and lightweight.  It does not feel heavy on the lips at all. The shade is a blood red color with a tinge of hot pink.

The application was super easy with a wand, but with the brush, it was uneven. My face looked instantly brighter and this lip tint gave a nice pop of colour to my lips. Even if you pair it with a dull outfit, it totally perks you up.  It will cover pigmented lips too. The pigmentation is really good at the beginning. Upon application, it gives a nice glossy finish and after a while, it soon settles down to a matte finish. The application is a bit uneven as it is a lip stain. But it did not dry out my lips at any point, in fact it keeps my lips moisturised throughout the day.

The color looked bold and beautiful and stayed as it is for 3 hours. Then the intensity started to reduce a bit, but yet there was a spark of red on my lips. The stain stayed for 6-7 hours and survived meals and drinks too! Even though the color faded away, it settled in fine lines and turned really stubborn. I had to rub the makeup remover on my lips to get it off.  But even with small cons, it is a must-have if you don’t like reapplications.

• The colour of the cap is the same as the tint inside.
• It’s a bold blood red shade that would suit all skin tones, it’s everyone’s red!
• Well pigmented, gives a glossy sheen to the lips.
• Keeps lips hydrated, does not dry them out.
• Instantly perks up the face and adds glow.
• Stayed on my lips for 6-7 hours and also survives meals and water sips.

Cons of Maybelline Superstay 10 hr Stain Gloss Refreshing Red:

• The wand broke and I had to save it for the review 😛
• Gets applied in an uneven manner.
• Getting it off the lips is a bit of a task.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Superstay 10 hr Stain Gloss Refreshing Red?
Yes, I definitely do! It is very affordable plus there are amazing shades to choose from. And you can enjoy the entire day because you will not have to worry about re-applications.
