Hope all of you are doing fine! I am back again to share another beauty product today which belongs to my sister and I will narrate her experience in my words today! Let me give brief idea about her skin type and skin tone, she is blessed with problem free oily-combination skin and usually doesn’t get white/black heads that easily like me. She is also blessed with medium-tanned skin tone with light circles around her eyes and hence she always look out for effective treatments to conceal those dark circles. Luckily I got chance to sneak peak in her vanity kit and share some of her likes and dislikes with you all. According to her this concealer does work on her dark circles very well, although she is not very impressed to get it again. My Experience with Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Deep Beige Concealer:
Well, the concealer belongs to my sister and I will share her experience in my words. The concealercomes in plastic tube packaging with a doe foot applicator attached to cap which resembles any regular lip-gloss packaging. It does have faint smell, nothing so bothersome though. Over all I find it quite user friendly and travel friendly product.
As per my sister, the shade “Deep beige” is perfect match for most medium-light Indian skin tone beauties. Even I find it pretty good for my pale skin as it tends to smartly conceal my acne scars thereby blending into my pale skin with just a dab of foundation powder! The texture of concealer is neither too runny nor very thick, just perfect to blend seamlessly on our delicate eye area without becoming cakey or flaky. In fact we can use it on any minor flaws on our facial area, the key is to gently dab it on skin with finger tips and not with the applicator. My sister uses it to hide her dark circles which it actually does with perfection and she is pretty comfortable with using finger tips and facial wedges, unlike the applicator included. She just needs a few dots to cover her entire eye area and it sets to a matte finish, giving medium to almost full coverage for good 6+ hours.
She did notice that this concealer starts wearing out before 12 hours on her oily skin and hence its 24 hours claim seems a bit exaggerated. Moreover, she notices slight shiny (oily) skin after 6 hours of wear time which seem disappointing as per their claim. It is also noticeable that while the concealer does give her a perfect matte finish, a good hydrating eye cream and/or primer is advised to be used under the eyes for an even finish with no settling in fine lines or crease especially for beauties with dry skin. She always uses a primer underneath the concealer to get long lasting and crease free, non-cakey results.
Overall, she does like this deep beige concealer which suits her skin tone and works pretty fine for her concerns but still she is not convinced to get it again because she is also sensitive to parabens 😛 Moreover, she is interested in trying other new launches of beauty products in the market, hence this one might get the least preference in her next shopping list. Nevertheless she recommends it to all beauties preferably with oily, combination skin type, especially if you are looking to hide your minor flaws including under eye circles! According to her, this is pretty good budget friendly concealer to solve all skin concerns at once. Let’s sum up pros and cons.
Pros of Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Concealer in Deep Beige:
- A light weight, fast absorbing concealer available in variety of shades to suit every skin tone
- It does what it claims to do fairly well
- We just need a few dots to dab on the skin, which provides a matte medium-full coverage smartly concealing all acne scars and under eye circles for decent hours
- It stays put for good 6-8 hours alone, although it might stay for as long as 10+ hours with primer
- It does not accentuate oily skin or major skin issues
- It does not settle into fine lines or crease and does not transfer
- It does not look cakey or flaky on the skin, irrespective of using primer
- Quite budget friendly, travel friendly and user friendly product
Cons of Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Concealer in Deep Beige:
- It does contain parabens
- Dry skin beauties might find it tricky on skin
- Shininess on the skin can be observed after 6 hours of wear time
This doe foot applicator is not suitable for application
- It does not stay on for 24 hours as per its claim
Well my sister thinks that for 5-6 bucks it is definitely worth purchasing, however we do have a number of great concealers in the market with the same or little higher price mark. So she might try some other concealer before getting back to this one. It is certainly good for under eye circles and minor pigmentation on face.
