I purchased few matte ink liquid lipsticks from Maybelline recently. I have already reviewed the shade “30 Romantic” and today’s review is all about Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in the shade “20 Pioneer”. Read on to know more.

How to Use:
Step 1: Apply liquid lipstick in the center of your upper lip and follow the contours of your mouth.
Step 2: Glide the liquid lipstick across the entire bottom lip.

My Experience with Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick 20 Pioneer:

The lipstick comes in a rectangular colored tube with a white screw cap. The color of the shade resembles the color of the tube and it almost matches the shade quite well, so you can pick up the lipstick based on this. The cap holds the applicator. The applicator has a leaf shaped sponge applicator with a space in between that picks up the liquid effectively. The pointy edges are great as well and allow you to color the nooks and corners of the lips. The product has a tamper seal between the bottom tube and the cap. There is no much information on the tube and you need to look up to the website for any information.

The matte ink lipstick has a semi-thick, creamy consistency. The product has a sticky nature which is not so great and it stays for a while till it completely dries. This product is one of the stickiest lipsticks I have ever tried! I prefer to use this lipstick completely at the end, as there are chances of powder or any other makeup product sitting on them! The product takes around 5-10 minutes to dry, depending upon the amount that has been applied on the lips. The smell is pleasant and fades away soon. The application is pretty easy too. The texture is soft and it glides very easily on the lips.

“Pioneer” is a classy red shade. I love this shade and for me, it is a perfect red. It has a light hue to pink tones to it. It matches any skin tones and instantly brightens up the face. The color is opaque and is heavily pigmented. One glide clearly deposits enough color on the lips. The product is also buildable, but I guess one sweep is more than enough! The product settles down to a matte finish once dried. The product is very smooth and glides like a dream without tugging the lips. As Claimed, the product lasts very long on the lips. Since it is a deep pigmented color, it also leaves a stain that lasts pretty long. The product lasts for around 10 hours without fading and after it dries, the product is smudge proof and doesn’t transfer or bleed. The color stays intact on the lips. It easily survives meals and drinks.

The product till it dries can cause a lot of issues, so you need to keep your hands off your face. The product doesn’t have any moisturizing properties and thus has to be applied to well moisturized lips to prevent it settling to creases. I have very dry lips and I have noticed very little settling, so if you have normal lips, the chances of it not settling onto the creases are high. The product also peels a bit after 4-5 hours and this is not a good sight. If you apply a layer on it, it does enhance the dryness. The product has to be removed with an oil based cleanser to get the color off the lips. Overall, it is a great product. I love the long-lasting effect of the product and love the shade too!
