Today, I am here with the review of my fourth shade from the Maybelline Colorshow range and I just love these lipsticks.  Though I prefer the shimmer-free ones more, today’s shade is also a shimmery one, but I liked the creamy, buttery texture of the lipstick and the bright, peppy shades of the range.  I thank Maybelline a lot for launching these lovely lipsticks for us.  Let’s see how many stars I would give to this shade.

Intense Fashionable Lip Color. Maybelline Color Show Lipstick is a fashionable intense lipstick, which comes in chic to vivid shades. Maybelline Color Show Lipstick is highly pigmented giving bold lips. It stays for up to four to five hours. The creamy texture is not heavy on the lips. It does not smear or smudge. It does not settle in line. As its highly moisturized you don’t need to wear a lip balm.

I am just bored of writing this part. The bullet body is black and silver in color, there is a colored rim in the middle of the body and cap of the tube, it describes the color family to which the shade belongs to and this shade belongs to the purple/mauve family, so the shiny band is purple in color. The cap shuts with a click sound and won’t get wobbly with constant use.  Overall, the packaging looks pretty decent for the price.

My Experience with Maybelline Violet Vibe Color Show Lipstick:

Shade:  Violet Vibe is a violet-red color/deep magenta, it can also be called a wine color with extremely concentrated medium-sized purple and silver shimmer in it.  Though the shimmer is not gritty, it can’t be felt on the lips on application, but they are extremely concentrated and hence it gives a purple sheen to the lipstick. I don’t know why they added shimmer to it.  The color is very pretty and will suit a lot of skin tones. The shade is not suitable for office wear, but it can be worn for informal outings.

Texture and Finish:  The lipstick has a very creamy, soft and buttery texture.  It glides like butter on lips. It feels very hydrating and lightweight on the lips without feeling sticky.  The lipstick doesn’t overly exaggerate flaky lips and it does not settle into the fine lines.  Prepping lips will be a good idea. Even with the buttery soft texture, the color doesn’t bleed a bit.  The lipstick gives a creamy matte finish on the lips, but due to the shimmer, this shade has a glossy sheen to it.  The lipstick has a sweet fruit cake and candy kind of scent to it, which is not overpowering at all.

Pigmentation: The shade is superbly pigmented; one swipe deposits an even layer of color on the lips and gives completely opaque coverage, so it’s an apt shade for pigmented lips.

Staying Power: The shade lasted on me for 3-4 hours without eating or drinking, the creamy feel tends to last for 2-2.5 hours and after that, it fades away evenly leaving a strong stain behind.  The lipstick will stay on the lips evenly till you eat anything.  The lipstick transfers very easily, hence it fades very easily and unevenly.  So, a touch-up is must after eating or drinking anything. The shimmer sticks on the lips even after the lipstick fades away, and that’s the biggest con for me.

Pros of Maybelline Violet Vibe Color Show Lipstick:

• Violet Vibe is a very pretty deep magenta color and will suit every skin tone and every age group.
• Texture of the lipstick is buttery smooth and glides effortlessly on lips.
• The lipstick is decently pigmented, an apt lipstick for pigmented lips.
• Considering it’s a creamy lipstick, the staying is satisfactory for 3-4 hours.
• The formula of the lipstick is extremely hydrating and feels comfortable on lips.
• Reasonably priced considering the creamy texture and hydrating formula.
• The shimmer or color doesn’t settle in the fine lines and doesn’t bleed.

Cons of Maybelline Violet Vibe Color Show Lipstick:

• Some of you may not prefer the shimmer and the purple sheen.
• Being a creamy lipstick, it transfers a lot to cups and glasses.
• The shimmer is left behind on the lips after the lipstick fades away.

Would I Recommend Maybelline Violet Vibe Color Show Lipstick?

Yes, if you can ignore the shimmer, you can really go for this bold magenta shade, it’s really a pretty color and will suit every skin tone, young girls and mature ladies too can easily carry this shade.
