Maybelline has recently launched a full collection of the “Vivid Matte” lipsticks which has amazing bold shades in this range. They had earlier launched 4 shades and have now extended the collection. I was lured by the gorgeous shades and that’s why I picked up two beautiful lipsticks. I picked up “Vivid 7” and “Vivid 8.” In this post, I would be reviewing Vivid 7.

My Experience with Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational – Vivid 7:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a deep tomato red packaging with a silver base. This packaging looks a lot similar to the other lipsticks from the other different Colorsensational range. It has a plastic wrapped with “vivid matte” written over it, but I hate the fact that the name isn’t printed over, the name gets thrown away with the plastic the moment I open the packaging. It would have been so much better if the packaging was colour coded, but they have the shade colour at the base, so that settles it. The bullet swivels up nicely, so no flaws with the packaging.
Shade: “Vivid 7” is a gorgeous bright red shade and this is a red which would be perfect for all skin tones. It does not have any prominent warm or cool undertones to it which makes it a perfect red for all complexions. It is an intense red shade and not a very bold one, so people who are on the way to start with red lipsticks can surely opt for this classy shade. It can be the perfect red for the upcoming party and wedding season.
Texture/Consistency/Finish: This lipstick glides very smoothly onto my lips without a lot of effort. Although it is has a classy super matte finish, it is creamy initially which gives a flawless finish. After an hour, it feels a bit dry but that is the case with all matte lipsticks, so no issues there. The shade gets applied perfectly without clinging to chapped portions of my lips or settling into fine lines, so the clinging to dry patches may happen with lighter and neon shades from the range. I love the fact that is it completely matte and doesn’t have any sheen or shine.
Staying Power: This lipstick stays for 5-6 hours with full meals with the colour fading little by little. And with a few snacks, the staying power is extended by one hour. It does not fade away completely at any point as it leaves a bright stain behind which comes off easily with any makeup remover. So, this is a good range to try if you love matte lipsticks.

Cons of Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational – Vivid 7:
- Might dry out the lips a little.
- No color-coded packaging.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Vivid Matte by Colorsensational – Vivid 7?
Yes, it is a very nice red shade to have in your makeup kit. There are many more shades to choose from, they have really nice berry pink colours, so try them too.
