I am a mascara lover and Maybelline is my favorite brand as far as mascaras are concerned. This brand offers so many great mascaras at affordable price range. Since The Colossal Big Shot Volume Express Mascara got launched, I had wanted to try it. Now, let’s get into the detailed review of this mascara 🙂

My Experience with Maybelline Volum Express The Colossal Big Shot Waterproof Mascara:

Maybelline the Colossal Big Shot Volume Express mascara comes in a gorgeous metallic finish gold tube. It looks very attractive and I love the packaging. This mascara has a long applicator wand with multi-sized wavy bristles that are quite long and big. These bristles go into my lashes perfectly and reach each and every lash very well, it even works nicely on the lower lashes. The bristles are quite flexible too.

This range has three shades and I picked “Super Black,” which is a very nice bold black shade, great for lighter eyelashes. It’s super pigmented and instantly coats my lashes and makes them look natural bold black.

This mascara has a perfect medium creamy consistency that glides smoothly into the lashes and reaches the smaller lashes equally and imparts an even effect. The consistency is creamy and it takes a bit of time to dry out, but it never feels patchy. As it doesn’t dry out quickly, I can layer it up without much effort.

This mascara never feels clumpy even with two or three coats but if I apply more, then it looks slightly clumpy. I think it’s pretty common with all mascaras and it doesn’t need more than two coats to achieve a perfect look. To avoid clumpy lashes, don’t let your mascara go dry in between coats. Otherwise, this formula helps to define each lash perfectly. I can clearly notice the difference and it also provides great length and that automatically enhances the appearance of my lashes. This formula keeps my lashes flexible and curl. It feels very comfortable on eyes.

I always prefer to curl my lashes before applying mascara and this mascara helps to hold that curl for the whole day without weighing them down. Also, it helps to lift my lashes and opens up my eyes. My eyes appear bigger and well defined as well. It is a volumizing mascara that provides great volume to lashes and makes them bolder and bigger. Overall, the effect is quite dramatic that makes lashes fuller, bigger and bolder.

Also, this mascara stays long throughout the day until I remove it. It doesn’t smudge or doesn’t transfer anywhere. It is also a waterproof mascara which works perfectly on my watery eyes. It stays nicely and holds my lashes for long. The only grudge is that it is quite difficult to remove as it is a waterproof mascara, so I always need an oil-based remover to take it off.

Overall, I really like this mascara. It performs well on eyelashes by defining them and adding good length. I can’t call it a super volume mascara like the Maybelline Lash Sensation Mascara, but it works very nicely as well. It is more over lengthening and defining mascara. According to its price it’s totally a worth buy. It is also available in a washable version so you can go for it too.
