Today I’m going to be reviewing Maybelline’s Volum’Express Mascara: the Mega Plush. Mine is in the shade Brownish Black and is the regular kind (washable).
I first noticed this product through the internet while looking at all of Maybelline’s mascaras. One of my friends then mentioned it to me because this was her everyday mascara. So, I decided to try it. Now onto my review:
Introducing Maybelline’s first Gel-Mousse formula: Contains 40% less hard waxes for massive yet supple lashes, never stiff, never brittle. Our patented Flexor Brush gently coats every lash with supple volume.
For best results, apply the Flexor Brush against the lashes and sweep from root to tip until a full plush look is achieved.
I found the colour and shape of the tube very cute and attractive but I feel the same way about nearly all of Maybelline’s mascaras. One of the things that really stand out about this mascara is the wand. It’s called the “Flexor-Brush”. So, the wand is basically flexible and can bend. This seemed kind of strange at first cause when you’re applying mascara you want to be steady and not poke your eyes out, but to be honest the flexible part of the wand didn’t make too much of a difference to me. The brush part is really big and the bristles are long and thin. It really separated all my lashes and got the ones in the corner too.
This is the first of Maybelline’s Gel-Mousse Formulas and it does look a bit like a light gel. It keeps your lashes looking curled and gives them volume. This mascara is buildable so you can do the natural or dramatic look, depending on how many coats you wear. The first coat will make your eyelashes slightly more noticeable, but a second coat really makes a difference. A plus point is even with two coats on, the formula of this mascara was designed to give you a plush-light feeling and it does.
Pros of Maybelline Volum’Express Mascara: The Mega Plush:
– No clumps, smudging or flaking.
– It separates your lashes and gives them length and volume.
– It has a big, fluffy brush that covers each lash.
– The formula is fluffy so you can build on it to achieve the look you want.
– Lives up to the claim, your lashes won’t feel stiff or brittle.
– It holds a curl really well.
– Fairly easy to remove.
– Comes in a waterproof formula too.
– Ophthalmologist tested.
– Contact lens safe.
Cons of Maybelline Volum’Express Mascara: The Mega Plush:
– The brush can be a little flimsy.
– The formula is on the wetter side.
Well, my eyelashes are pretty normal, length and volume wise. This mascara really does it all for me. It separates them, lengthens them and gives them volume. I think it is a good mascara for everyday-wear because it can give you a nice natural, feathery look.
I rate this product a 4.5 (-.5 due to the above mentioned cons).
I will definitely repurchase this product and recommend it to all of you. I am not sure if it is available here (in Bangalore) because I have not seen it, but if you find it I think you should definitely buy it!
Hope you’re all having a wonderful week! 🙂
