Maybelline Watershine Pure Lipstick in P22 Review

Maybelline Watershine Pure Lipstick in P22

Maybelline pure lipstick P22

Today, I am going to review one of my favourite lipsticks these days, Maybelline Watershine Lipsticks. As the name suggests, they have “shine.” They are like gloss moulded in the form of lipsticks, but then why do I prefer them over gloss? Because they are not sticky or gooey and they don’t even give a heavy feeling on my lips.

Rati did a post on them here and you can check Nupur’s review of shade BC11 here.

Price:

220 INR (though I got it at a 20% discount from New U).

I stumbled upon this lipstick while I was on the Maybelline counter searching for “My Mahagony” shade, but when I couldn’t find it, I started exploring the other shades. The one thing I really love about Maybelline as a brand is that they are very pocket friendly despite being an international brand and I hope they don’t get psycho like Revlon or Lakme and start hiking their prices.

The packaging looks quite impressive at first sight, its sleek and stylish, but at the same time, it is a bit fragile. I always have this fear that the cap might come off while its in my bag. The cap has already started moving slightly.

My Experience with Maybelline Watershine Pure Lipsticks:

The reason why I actually love these lipsticks is because they are sheer enough to be worn in college without attracting too much attention. They give a sheer tint of colour on your lips, which I totally love. Yes, I know the more opaque the lipsticks are, the more better they are, but sometimes, you don’t want that much colour and that is where these lipsticks come in. They are very moisturizing, glide on like a dream and the staying power is about 2-3 hours, though they leave a nice tint on the lips even after 3 hours. The one thing I don’t like about these lipsticks is that though they are moisturizing and balmy on application, they make my lips dry after an hour or so and since I already have chapped lips, it really becomes a problem for me and I have to re-apply them or apply a lip balm over it. Apart from that, I like these lipsticks a lot and I think I will be getting more shades!!

Here are the swatches.

(1 swipe ,2-3 swipes)

Pros of Maybelline Watershine Pure Lipsticks:

• Very moisturizing and balmy.
• Gives a subtle shine to the lips.
• Pocket friendly.
• Lasts for good 2-3 hours.
• Good for everyday use.
• A wide range of colours available.

Cons of Maybelline Watershine Pure Lipsticks:

• The colour is not so intense, but it is buildable.
• Not a long-staying lipstick, the staying power is equivalent to a gloss.
• The packaging is fragile.

My Rating:

3/5.

Would I Recommend It?

If you are a gloss lover and you want to try out a lipstick, then this is for you. If you are a college-going girl and you want to experiment with different colours without attracting too much attention, then this is for you, or if you just want to go out and buy another lipstick, then this is also for you ! 😀
