A very happy birthday to IMBB! Feels great to be a part of it for a few years now and see it grow every day. So, I picked up two products from the newly-launched range by Maybelline as they looked interesting. I’ve not been an admirer of liquid lipsticks and I was a bit hesitant to even try. So, I picked up liquid lipstick from Maybelline to check out what the fuss is about 🙂

My Experience with Maybelline Wear On Wildberry SuperStay 24 Color Lip Color:

Packaging: This is a 2-in-1 product with a lip balm on one side and the lipstick on the other. The tube came in a plastic outer cover which had the details about it. It is easy and convenient to use and carry around. The applicator is the best thing about this lip product. It is a sharp tipped sponge applicator which picks up a good amount of product. The tip helps me in achieving precise finish.

Shade:  Wear On Wildberry is a pretty soft pink color with tons of fine gold shimmer. I found many of the shades to be shimmery and that’s a disappointment, but there are some good shades also. The shimmers in the color give it a frosty “90’s wala,” finish which I am not a big fan of.

Texture and Pigmentation:  The texture of the lipstick is very good and light. It does not give me a streaky or uneven finish. It is quite easy to apply too. It takes a little while to dry completely and settle to a matte texture with a frosty finish. While it’s drying, do not make the mistake of pressing your lips together or they might stick together forever :D. Once it dries, it kind of gives my lips a dry and barren feeling and that is when the balm comes into picture. The pigmentation is really good and I never need more than a swipe for coverage.

Staying Power:  The lipstick is completely waterproof and smudge-proof. It doesn’t budge once it sets. No sign of transfer at all, but on the other hand, the transfer-proof formula takes a toll on my lips. My lips start to get dry after 2 hours and I need to keep reapplying the balm. It also flakes up after a few hours. This liquid lipstick is like applying a thin layer of something that sticks to your lips until you remove it. Lasting power is more than 8-10 hours, with minimal fading from center with consumption of oily food. I’ve never had the opportunity to wear it for a full 24 hours yet 😀 Also, removing it is a bit of a pain and it needs a very strong makeup remover to completely take it off. At the end of the day, it does leave my lips super dry, but I guess you cannot have everything.

Overall, I feel that this is an awesome product if you hate touch-ups like me and I think it is good to sport it once in a while.

Cons of Maybelline Wear On Wildberry SuperStay 24 Color Lip Color:

• Feels super dry on the lips.
• I am not a big fan of the shimmers and the frosty look.
• Application of balm is a must every now and then.
• If balm is not applied, and lips are pursed then lips will feel as they are stuck together.
• Flakes up after a few hours.
