Menow Cosmetics #32 Generation II Long Lasting Lip Gloss Review

If you want to know how much I love matte lip colors, check out my previous posts. I have been eyeing Lime Crime Velvetines for a while now for they are super pigmented and matte. However, they are usually out of stock especially the shade which I want and also, they are a little expensive. I had read somewhere that these Menow Cosmetics Generation II Long Lasting Lip Glosses are a perfect dupe for the Velvetines and thought of trying them. And then, I ended up picking three of these! 😀

My Experience with Menow Cosmetics #32 Generation II Long Lasting Lip Gloss:

First of all, the name of these lip colors is deceiving – they are not lip glosses since they do not have a glossy finish and second, they have shade number from 1 to 38 instead of a name which is rather pointless — “I am wearing number 18!” —  does not sound very interesting? But, I guess, the list of drawback ends here because from here on, everything goes uphill.

Packaging: Skinny, long tube – like a test tube with a solid black, twist cap which has a long doe foot applicator attached to it. I like the packaging because they are easy to store, carry and recognize among the pile of other lip colors.

Texture: It is very creamy and smooth to apply, reminds me of NYX Matte Lip Colors. It does not tug on dry lips; however, a lip balm is recommended underneath.

Color: Cool tone red. It has more blue than orange hence has more vampy appearance than a coral shade.

Pigmentation: Awesome pigmentation! And, this is a claim made by me who suffers from lip pigmentation and tries really hard to hide uneven lip tone to get a flawless finish. So, it’s superbly pigmented and is a blessing for people who suffer from lip pigmentation or any other such lip flaw.

Shimmer and Shine: It has no shimmer or shine, whatsoever. On first swatch, it might appear a little wet or shiny, but in a matter of couple of minutes, it dries out into a smooth, velvet matte finish.

Fragrance: The product has a very subtle floral fragrance which I like since it doesn’t bother me too much and fades away eventually.

Wear Time: One needs a very good makeup remover to remove these or it won’t budge at all. It might fade a little if one consumes oily food, but otherwise it does not budge at all. In fact, it is little too stubborn to remove.

Conclusion: I am really happy that I took a leap of faith and purchased these lip beauties. I can’t wait to buy other shades as well.
