Mentholatum Acnes Powder Lotion Review

Mentholatum Acnes Powder Lotion

Mentholatum Acnes Powder Lotion

Somebody once suggested that I should apply some talcum powder on my face to get rid of acne. The logic behind the suggestion was that powder will control the oil, so I should take a lot of powder and dab it onto my face in order to leave no trace of oil. I just thought, what the ****, I have heard weirder things as well, but let’s not get into that! It seems like somebody from Rohto overheard this person’s suggestion 😛 Well, even if they did not hear the aforementioned conversation, they did come up with this powder lotion.

What it Claims:

Acnes Powder Lotion absorbs excessive sebum, tightens skin pores and restores the necessary moisture of the skin. It also fights with acne and prevents further breakouts.

How to Use:

After cleansing the face, pour lotion on cotton pad, dab gently and evenly on the face. Don’t wash again with water. Shake it well before use.

What it Does:

The lotion looks the way a lot of water and a few drops of milk would. They ask you to apply it evenly because when the lotion dries up, a white layer is formed. If you apply this lotion in patches, white patches will be formed, which won’t look good. I have a mixed feeling towards this lotion. It does control oil and I think it is far more effective than the sealing gel. When I apply it, the smell reminds me of spirit that is used to swab your skin with before an injection is given.  It actually feels like they have dissolved powder in alcohol (I don’t know if that’s possible; however, you can’t dissolve talcum powder in water I know because I have tried it as a kid plenty of times).

swatch

The lotion controls the oil on its own for a considerable time, but I feel the need to apply some lotion or cream after some time (even though I have oily skin).

This is something which will replace your toner and if you have a combination skin, the best bet will be to apply it in the acne-affected areas only. I don’t think it will suit somebody with dry skin at all.

Price:

150 for 100 ml.

Pros:

• Controls sebum.
• The claim of tightening the pores is true.
• It has a nozzle-like top, so you can take out the lotion easily and it is hygienic too!
• One bottle will last you a long time.

Cons:

• It smells like spirit.
• Doesn’t moisturize the skin.
• Not everyone is comfortable with the idea of powder in a lotion.

  1. sounds good !!! did it help u with acne???? i was planning to gift this to my boyfriend actually as he has super oily and acne prone skin!

    1. Taps, If he is using no other acne treatment then you can definitely give him this…..it definitely controls oil but tell him to make sure he spreads it evenly otherwise there will be white patches.
If he is using some gel or something, it will make his skin feel really dry. I use this and then I use lotus papayablem so the skin doesn’t feel dry and no new zits lately :balle: :balle: :balle: :balle:

  2. it checks oil…   me will check this one out in summers..abhi to season is getting harsh even for xtreme oily skin gals lik me… :methinks: :methinks: :methinks: :methinks:
    n yeah Maansi .. acne ki prob solve krta hai ye??? ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:)

    1. Keirti…………..even I thought ki winters ke liye ye too much hai… :methinks:
size of zits has been decreasing but I think it will take some time for the acne problem to be solved completely :waiting: :waiting:

  3. Looks interesting…But I don’t have much acne (touchwood!) so I can live without it. :preen:
Great review,Maansi! But the whole concept is still rather confusing for a simpleton like me. 🙄

  4. i was waiting for iska review..!! thanks maansi… if it controls oil im soooo getting it.. waise bhi bahut khujli ho rahi thi yeh lene ki..i like their facewash as well

  5. This thing sounds so interesting! :woot: I have an overall dry face with some patches of acne-prone skin. I may buy this for topical application just in case acne decides to rear its ugly head like it does at constant intervals. :yuck: :yikes:
