My Experience with Mica Beauty Tinted Lip Balm – Natural:
Mica Beauty is recently rising in popularity mostly due to the fact that it is a mineral makeup line and it is available widely in USA , UK and other countries too. This is the first product I am trying from this particular brand and I have not been disappointed.
Firstly, I love skin and lip care products and I could never say “no” to a lip balm in this season of chapped lips. If a lip balm also happens to double up as a lip color, all I can say is “yes please!”
The shade in particular is called “Natural.” First, I was scared that this might apply sheer or give me “ghost lips,” but this is actually a very pigmented lip product. It applied very opaque in one swipe and feels very lightweight. The shade is a great MLBB shade for most Indian skin tones and pairs perfectly with a smokey eye.
It has a semi-matte finish. Though it is better to apply this with a brush if you want to get precise application, but fingers work great at applying this product too with the only problem being that you get stained fingers. Even if you build it up to multiple layers, it does not feel heavy on the lips. It does not have any sticky, tacky or slippery feel like most lip balms. If you rub your lips together, they just feel moisturized lips. It does not settle in fine lines of the lips nor accentuate them.
The small-sized screw top plastic pot makes it ideal for travel too. Staying power is very good, 3-4 hours on my lips with slight snacking. And even after it fades it leaves a tint on your lips. It does not transfer too much and hence totally lives up to the claim of being kiss and smudge proof.
It also works great as a base for other lipsticks. My lips do feel very moisturized and conditioned even after I take off this product and I have less chapped lips using this.
Though it is a very expensive product, it is also a very quality product. Since it is a very pigmented product, you do need very little to give you opaque coverage, hence it will last me quite a long time. I may think twice to purchase this product, but I am definitely hooked on it while I still have it.
