I am going to review Milani Cosmetics Matte Lip Creme in the shade “29 Sweetie.” Milani Cosmetics is one of the best drugstore makeup brands in USA, but unfortunately, it’s not easily available in India. A lot of duplicate versions have flooded the beauty market, so I thought I would rather pick it up from USA.

My Experience with Milani 29 Sweetie Amore Matte Lip Creme:

Packaging: It comes in a very luxurious looking, slim, rectangular tube with a golden metal closure. Applicator brush is a standard doe foot one but this one is flat and not angular like usual lipsticks in India have. Shade name is pasted at the bottom of the tube plus its transparent so you can easily make out which color it is.

Shade: “Sweetie” looks exactly the same after drying as it looks when it is in its liquid form. It does compliment my skin tone quite well and it will suit all Indian skin tones. It is a perfect n*de shade and has warm undertones.

Formulation: I love its formulation; it glides on super smoothly on your lips. It feels completely non-sticky and it has a very nice mild fragrance. Compared to other liquid matte lipsticks available, this one is not that drying and feels almost nothing on your lips. Pigmentation is great, just one swipe and you are good to go.

Texture: This lip creme feels quite liquidy-creamy. I expected it to take a while to set on the lips, but only 30-40 seconds is enough whereas Huda Beauty lip mattes take around 1-1.5 minutes to set. It is completely transfer proof once set and doesn’t look cakey even after couple of applications.

Just to be sure, I applied two coats on my lips and it stayed for good 4-5 hours. I believe this is a challenge for liquid lipstick makers around the world to create such a product that can survive Indian food (with the amount of oil). It fades away with oily food, but otherwise, light munching won’t make much of a difference.
