Milani Baked Blush 08 Corallina Review

By Vijeta N.

Hi all,

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Milani Cosmetics. Previously, I had bought Milani 03 Beauty’s Touch Illuminating Face Powder but wasn’t very much impressed with it. Before putting a brand into my favorite category, I wanted to explore more. This time, I picked up their much-hyped baked blush in the shade “Corallina”. The reason I went ahead with the purchase is because I didn’t have any peach/orange blush in my stash. So, without much ado, let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Milani Baked Blush 08 Corallina:

Let’s first understand what does ‘baked’ means. It is my first baked product so, I had to dig in to know what exactly the purpose of baking here is. Initially, baked products are creams, which are baked over a period of time that they dry to a powdery form. The baking process makes them creamy and velvety. They have a few filler ingredients which make them even more pigmented. Baked products are more luminous and vibrant. Another great feature is that because their origin is a liquid, the powders can be used either in dry or wet form.

The packaging is a typical beige-golden Milani type. It is not very sturdy as I know other brands who provide better packaging under the same price range. If you see the image, the blush pan doesn’t fit perfectly in the space, and there is some extra space around, which clearly shows that precision isn’t their forte. When it comes to pretty perfect and impressive packaging, there is no one to beat Too Faced I feel. Anyways, moving ahead, it comes with a very usable good quality brush beneath. If not regularly, you can surely rely on this brush, especially when you are travelling or when you don’t have your entire brush range with you.

Having said that, the baked blush in the shade “Corallina” is a beautiful peach shade. It is quite pigmented and gives a youthful glow to the face in a single swipe. Like I said before, it is more of a peachy orangy shade, which is perfect for summers and is bright and vibrant as well. Also, it is a perfect shade for weddings since it is full of shimmers. The shimmer particles are very noticeable I would say, and are more towards the glittery side. If you are a non-shimmer person, it’s better to stay away from this.

When it comes to the texture, I didn’t find it a very finely milled or a velvety powder. It is definitely not very smooth to touch. However, upon application, its coarseness doesn’t show. Do remember to tap out the extra before applying on the face as the brush picks up too much, and there is a hell lot of fall out. It stays for around 6-7 hours easily and fades away gradually after that.
