Today, I am reviewing a lipstick from the Milani “Color Statement Moisture Matte” range. This range is not new and quite a few shades from this range have been already reviewed on IMBB before (Flamingo Pose, Uptown Mauve, Matte Iconic, Orchid Moisture), I am reviewing the shade “Matte Glam” today. Read on to find out more about this shade.
$5.99. Prices may vary from store to store.
Meet your matte. Your fantasy matte. The matte that not only feels great (yes, you read that right – it’s actually comfy) but also lasts for hours and has “a-mazing Instagram selfie” written all over it. Infused with grape seed extract imported from Italy, this smear-proof lip soother delivers mega color that won’t budge, even after a close encounter with a cappuccino cup.
My Experience with Milani Matte Glam Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a beautiful gold packaging with a band at the bottom matching the color of the lipstick. The cap shuts tight and there is no danger of the cap coming off loose even if you toss it around in your bag.
Even though the packaging is quite simple, it looks classy and doesn’t feel flimsy at all.
Shade: “Matte Glam” is a purple shade with the slightest blue undertones. This is surely not a shade which will be everyone’s cup of tea, but if purple lipsticks like MAC Heroine are your thing, then you should surely try this one out. I personally am not too comfortable wearing this lipstick.
The pigmentation of the lipstick is quite decent. Though one swipe deposits enough color on the lips, I would recommend two swipes for a more even finish. Multiple swipes makes the application slightly patchy.
Texture/Finish/Pigmentation: The texture of the lipstick is quite creamy and it glides smoothly on the lips. There is no tugging at all and the lipstick applies very comfortably. The finish of the lipstick is matte, but it has a slight sheen to it which prevents it from looking dull.
This lipstick does not feel drying but it is not overly moisturizing either. This particular shade does settle into the lip lines and highlights dry patches. I would highly recommend exfoliation and wearing a lip balm underneath.
The matte formula makes the lipstick stay long – it stays on for around 5-6 hours with light meals. The lipstick fades evenly and this particular shade does not leave any stain behind.
Pros of Milani Matte Glam Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
- Creamy texture.
- Nice matte finish.
- Does not feel drying.
- Good staying power, around 5-6 hours.
- Classy packaging.
- Very affordable.
Cons of Milani Matte Glam Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
- This particular shade will not appeal to all.
- Exfoliation is recommended for dry chapped lips.
- Multiple swipes makes application slightly patchy.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Milani Matte Glam Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick?
If purple lipsticks interest you, you should surely try out this lipstick. I will not repurchase the exact same shade as I am not too comfortable with this shade.
