My Experience with Milani Moisture Lock Raspberry Oil infused Lip Treatment – Nourishing Raspberry:
Packaging: The lip oil comes in an adorable little glass bottle with a light golden screw on cap. The cap fits pretty well and there is no danger of leakage of the lip oil.
The product comes with a fat doe-shaped sponge applicator. The sponge is pretty big as compared to the normal applicators that come with glosses, but it is pretty good at picking up the oil and applies the product easily on the lips.
Pigmentation/Texture/Performance: The lip oil seems to have a pretty pink color in the bottle and on the wand. The hand swatch shows a slight pink tint. However, it appears colorless when you apply it on the lips. The pigmentation is just not enough to show up on the lips.
It only adds loads of shiny gloss to the lips. I personally am not a gloss person and hence do not enjoy this kind of a shiny look. The lip oil has a fruity raspberry fragrance which reminds me of candies. It is not overpowering but sensitive noses might not like it. The good part is that the smell wears away after a while.
Even though this is branded as an oil, the texture does not feel like an oil. It feels more like a gloss. The good part is that it is not overtly sticky, but for a product which claims to be a lip treatment infused with oils, it is lacking in the hydration department. It does feel moisturizing when you first apply it, but the effect is not long lasting and fades away in 2 hours or so. I don’t see any long-term benefit of using this product.
To summarize, it provides a nice shine and a little moisture but nothing that can replace a good lip balm. I would not recommend for dry lips.
