Milani Uptown Mauve Color Statement Lipstick Review

Hope you are having a great day! Today, I am reviewing a lipstick from the Milani Color Statement range. The shade is “Uptown Mauve” and the shade number is 20.

Application:
Begin applying from the center of your upper lips and work your way to the outer edges. Same application is used for your bottom lips.

Tip: Lip liner helps extend the wear and keeps your lipstick from feathering. When choosing a lip liner shade, match the lip liner to your lipstick shade or match your lip liner to the shade of your lips which will work with all your lipstick shades. Create a custom lip color by using a contrasting lip liner and lipstick shade.

My Experience with Milani Uptown Mauve Color Statement Lipstick:

Packaging:  The Milani Color Statement Lipstick comes in a beautiful gold tube. The shade name and number are printed on a color base at the bottom of the tube, the color of the base being the same as the lipstick color. The cap fits tightly enough to carry it in your bag.

Color:  Milani describes “Uptown Mauve” as a “red mauve.” I find it to be a gorgeous medium purple berry shade. It is a color which would suit all skin tones and it brightens up the face instantly. Depending upon your need, you can apply it as a stain or wear it at its maximum intensity.

Pigmentation:  “Uptown Mauve” is a highly pigmented shade. One swipe gives a completely opaque finish, even on my pigmented lips.

Scent:  All lipsticks in the Milani Color Statement range have a mild melon-like scent. You will smell it only during the application. So it is not a big con even if you are not fond of the smell.

Texture and Finish:  The texture of this lipstick is quite creamy and glides easily on the lips. It contains vitamins A and C and feels quite comfortable on the lips. My lips do not feel dry even after hours of wearing this. It is quite lightweight on the lips and is also quite moisturizing.This lipstick has a satin finish, with a slight sheen.

Longevity:  This particular shade is extremely long lasting. It stays put through the day. It does not bleed or feather. It even survives an oily meal! You will lose some of the sheen, but the color stays strong. It leaves a prominent stain on the lips, which lasts until you remove it at the end of the day.
