How are you doing today? I am here to share another wonderful beauty product from this new brand, Milk Makeup. The brand name sounds so funny but their products are no joke, seriously! I was already impressed by their lip colors and now I am floored by this brow gel which gives picture perfect brows in minutes. I am glad I picked it up before our trip as it literally reduced the wait time for my hubby to almost half (don’t tell me you are an early bird! :P).
Anyway, the gel brow is available in 3 universal brown shades namely: Pale Ale (light), Pilsner (medium brown) & Dark Brew (dark brown). By the way, isn’t it weird to see alcoholic terms “light ale” & “Pilsner” in a “Milk” brand. 😛 Well, I am not a beer person, so I settled with Dark Brew (coffee). 😀 On a serious note, the Dark Brew shade matches my dark brown brows perfectly. So let’s read more about Milk Makeup Dark Brew Gel Brow!
What it is:
A waterproof gel brow pencil that glides on smoothly in a matte finish for 10 hours of wear.
What it does:

Its built-in spoolie brush brushes through your arches, angling every strand. It features buildable shades with foolproof application, and it flatters a wide array of skin tones.

My Experience with Milk Makeup Dark Brew Gel Brow:
The gel comes in a sharpenable dual end pencil packaging form with a brow tip at one end and a spoolie brush at the other. Both the sides get securely locked with a transparent cap. I like how the brand in housed every product in additional sturdy transparent plastic tubes which come so handy while traveling.
My shade, Dark Brew, is described as a dark brown shade and if you have ever noticed dark brew coffee you will get an idea of this shade. Like the shades pilsner and light ale resemble a lot to those beer drinks we see in bars or shops; pretty smart idea, huh? The good point about this shade is that it matches my brown-black brows perfectly. Hence, I am sure beauties with dark brows would like this shade.
Moreover, it does not bring OTT attention to my brows even if I wear it at day time, thankfully. Talking about the texture of this pencil, it is described as a gel brow which is truly visible in its finish and formula as it softly glides on the skin, like any gel formula, thereby setting into a powdery matte but natural finish. I just need to gently dab it on my natural brow line to draw an outline. Then, I softly fill in to get a complete color pay off without any tugging, pulling or rubbing.
I also like that it has that waxy formula which not only delivers the color but tames my brow hairs to keep them in place as long as the product stays on my skin. Oh yes, unlike other pencils I have tried so far, this is an exceptional pencil. It gives precision like that of a powdery pencil there by taming your brow hairs like any brow wax; if you are into all-in-one products, then this brow pencil is your best mate. Surprisingly, I don’t feel any stiffness or waxy residue on my brows.
I am also impressed that it is true to its claims; its smudge free, water proof and long lasting finish stays intact for good 5+ hours on my oily skin type. I had packed a handful of brow products for my trip, but I only settled with this gel brow every day. Can you believe? Yes, it is that effortless and time savior product, though we need to be patient with its application considering its waxy texture which can easily spoil your natural look.
However, I have tried a similar wax cum powder brow product before from Black Up brand and it gave me nearly similar results with its lipstick bullet packaging. But I feel black Up has a drawback that the tip will soon where as Milk Makeup gel brow is a sharpenable pencil that retains both, the tip and the formula.
I am not a fan of sharpenable pencils, but now I have changed my perception towards some selected products, like the brow products. Hence, I would anytime prefer Milk makeup gel brow (though I need to sharpen it after every 2-3 usages); not to forget, this one is cheaper than Black Up.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Milk Makeup Dark Brew Gel Brow:
• A 2 in 1 gel (pencil + spoolie)
• Provides intense color and keeps hair in place
• Suitable for every skin type
• Waterproof, smudge proof and transfer proof
• Intensely pigmented and soft
• Glides like a gel but sets into a powdery-wax finish• Tames hairs to set in place
• Eyebrow doesn’t feel stiff
• Stays on for complete 10 hours, even on my oily skin
• Is perfect even for beginners
• Quite user-friendly and travel-friendly
Cons of Milk Makeup Dark Brew Gel Brow:
• Sharpenable pencil but sharpener isn’t provided
• May require frequent sharpening
• You can easily go overboard with such creamy products
Well, I don’t think I have any major concern with this product; just that I am learning to recognize sharpeners in my kit to fit this pencil. I would highly recommend you to try this product, it is a must try product.
