Milk Makeup Name Drop Lip Color Review

Skin tone: Light/fair with yellow-neutral undertones
Skin type: Sensitive-oily, acne prone

Hello beauties!

How are you doing today? I am overwhelmed right now with so many things which need to be done before we leave on Tuesday morning. I have to attend the rehearsals for an upcoming surprise event while my daughter needs to shop for her upcoming birthday party. I had some plans to cook Indian delicacies for her classmates, but finally dropped the idea as I need to keep myself free that day. Before that, I need to do some packing too.

Milk Makeup Name Drop Lip Color Review

I wish I had extra pairs of hands & legs to do things right now! Anyway today I am sharing about my first purchase from the brand “Milk Makeup”. The brand claims to provide high-tech, multi-functional and low maintenance products for today’s smart gal. So let’s read more about Milk Makeup Lip Color Name Drop!

Price:
$22 for 0.1 Oz, exclusive of shipping and taxes

Product Description:
What it is:
A lipstick re-imagined for the modern girl—perfect for the bold, matte lip trend.

What it does:
This bold Lip Color bathes lips in hydration for comfortable all day wear. Shea butter, coconut oils, and grapefruit peel oils soften lips and boost moisture. Meanwhile, Milk Melt Technology matches body temperature for instant glide and a second skin feel. A pigment level of 30 percent ensures one-swipe coverage and super intense color payoff with no base required. The tube’s long, lean shape and custom tip allow for easy application for a perfect bold, matte lip look that lasts from dusk to dawn.

My Experience with Milk Makeup Name Drop Lip Color:

The lip color comes in a retractable, grey plastic pencil packaging with a transparent plastic cap. This is nicely in housed inside another sturdy, see-through plastic tube packaging. But still, I feel the packaging could have been better, especially if you consider the bucks I have put into it.

The shade “Name Drop” is described as an orange red, and it is true to its description. It comes up as a bright and vibrant orange red on my lips with semi-matte finish and slightly creamy sheen. The formula of this lip color is highly pigmented; it is good enough to deliver high intensity color with even a gentle touch. However, the Bite Beauty pencils that I own are more creamy & feel slightly heavy on the lips. This one feels pretty lightweight on the lips and is just like second skin.

In fact, this lip color gives a finish that’s pretty similar to Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks on my lips with slight difference; in Urban Decay, the lip colors maintain a subtle translucency and a gel texture, both of which are absent here. This one gives almost 100% color pay off in 1-2 swipes; I need a second swipe to even out the edges and to make it look more even. It completely hides those dry patches and lip pigmentation without any cakey or heavy look on lips. Great, huh!

lipstick bullet

The texture of Name Drop, as mentioned earlier, is way soft and moderately hydrating on my lips; I never feel any dryness on my lips. In fact, I like how it glides like any semi-matte finish lipstick yet forgives minor dryness on my lips. I mean it does settle as a powdery matte finish lipstick on my lips at first but soon fades into a soft orange-red color which looks more even and soft.

It also means that the color stays put for good 7-8 hours on my lips, surviving through generous transferring with light snacks, heavy meals. The color still stays there as a wearable stain with a punch of color and a creamy sheen. I feel it can be a dream come true of any matte lover as it does not look creamy or shiny yet posses a youthful sheen with moderately hydrating properties. Not to forget, the fresh ingredients show positive results on my normal dry lips; I would definitely like to try all shades from this range.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Milk Makeup Name Drop Lip Color:

• A vibrant, intensely pigmented orange red lip color
• Infused with the richness of natural ingredients
• Glides softly without any tugging
• Looks and feels pretty light-weight on lips
• Does not emphasize lip lines or dry patches
• Has a pretty forgiving formula to let go minor dryness
• Does not dry out the lips
• Makes lips feel soft
• The color stays put for good 7-8 hours without fading or feathering
• User friendly, retractable and travel friendly packaging

Cons of Milk Makeup Name Drop Lip Color:

• Packaging could have been better
• Transfers easily
• Feels slightly creamy initially
• Does not stay on the entire day
• Price

Well I have tried similar products in different brands, hence I can see the difference. If I had to choose between Bite Beauty pencils, Urban Decay Matte lipsticks and Milk Makeup, then this Milk Makeup lip color would come second on the list, after UD.
