Milk Makeup Rave Eye Pigment Review

Skin tone: fair-light, brown eyes
Skin type: oily eye lids

Hello friends,
Hope all of you are doing great! I am back with a product from Milk Makeup which is neither my hot favorite nor a dud. I feel if you are a master in eye makeup then you will love it else it can be a disappointment for beginners. My level is between amateur and pro when it comes to eye makeup. So, currently I like it, though I do have my share of doubts. Anyway, these eye pigments are available in some 5 metallic or glittery finish shades. Considering my love for purples and browns, I picked Rave (bright purple) and Silent Disco (brown). Let’s read more about Milk Makeup “Rave” Eye Pigment!

My Experience with Milk Makeup Rave Eye Pigment:

The creamy pigment comes in a small plastic tube packaging with a flip top narrow opening which makes it ideal for versatile usage as a liner or as an eye shadow. I find it pretty user-friendly, hygienic and travel-friendly. The shade “Rave” is certainly true to its description as it appears to be a bright metallic purple on my skin tone. I love how it amplifies my skin tone and takes my simple eye makeup to another level.

However, I do have a few major concerns with its formula and finish. Let’s talk about the texture first and it will provide all the answers. So, the texture of this pigment is a bit creamy, bit thicker yet easily spreadable which helps to slide it effortlessly even on non-primed eye area. It does take 3-4 minutes to set into a stubborn dry stain on the eyes. This means that we get ample time to blend it and to line & define our eyes.

But then it dries into a dry mask-type finish which emphasizes even minute lines on the eye area. I mean, a primer helps to fill in the fine gaps or to plump up the lines, so the finish of this eye pigment becomes smoother and seamless. But it does not have a forgiving formula. I didn’t experience any flaking or chipping off but it certainly feels like a mask once it dries, especially if I layer it on or use it as an allover lid color. Hence, I limit its usage to lining and defining and it simply works like a charm for me even without a primer.

And it is surely one of the most pigmented metallic finish eye shadows I have tried. Milk Makeup eye pigments are easier to use than MAC pigments. If you ask me, I am more comfortable using this pigment for my eye makeup over those loose MAC pigments. I mean, leave aside the finish, how easily I can create eye looks with this creamy pigment! I need not take care of fallouts, which is my biggest concern while working with loose eye pigments.

But the fact that it almost feels and appears mask-type and uncomfortable when worn on the lids can easily ruin our mood. I like how it stays put on my oily lids without any primer. It stays for around 5+ hours without smudging, transferring or fading.

Considering its yays and nays, I would sum it up as a brilliant concept with a poor approach. It could have been a better product. I might skip it as it is not something I would regret not trying!
