I have mentioned in all my earlier makeup removal products’ review that I love to wear makeup, but how I wish the “makeup removal” process was just as fun, especially to take off stubborn, waterproof eye makeup. The tedium of makeup removing process is what deters some of my friends from wearing makeup every day. For some of us who are diligent are also on the lookout for efficient, mess-free makeup removers. In the past, I have tried miceller water by Etude House, Garnier and Estee Lauder and this is the first time that I am trying and reviewing one by Missha.
Recommended for: - Those looking for a quick and thorough makeup remover - Those looking for a makeup remover that leaves a fresh finish - Those looking to remove makeup without irritating the skin.
My Experience with Missha Perfect Lip and Eye Makeup Remover:
I usually use makeup remover wipes to remove my face makeup and for eyes. I am currently using wipes from Tony Moly and will review them soon. I have used various kinds of makeup removers such as micellar water by brands like Etude House, The Body Shop and Estee Lauder but since they all have their pros and cons, I decided to keep hunting for a better one. I have never tried anything from the brand Missha before, do decided to take the plunge.
This makeup remover comes in a clear, plastic bottle with a black cap on top. The packaging is a big let-down because the opening dispenses a lot of product at a time and causes a lot of spillage. I wish it had a smaller opening or a spray nozzle or something to prevent product wastage.
The consistency of the product is like micellar water – water-based medium with oil floating on top. It contains marine water and oil in a 6:4 ratio. The bottle has to be shaken well to evenly distribute the product and then applied to eyes using a cotton pad. Let the soaked cotton pad sit on lids for a few seconds to break down the waterproof makeup and then wipe it off. I used it the same way and tried to remove my eyeliner and mascara and fortunately the results were satisfactory.
I had hoped to get squeaky clean waterline and lashes and with very gentle rubbing, I do manage to clean my eye area very well. It contains corn flower, False Daisy and Borage extracts that provide care to the sensitive lip and eye areas.
It comes in a good size bottle, is affordable and the best part is that it does not irritate my eyes as most eye makeup removers do. It comes in 4 different variants – 3 with oil and water and 1 with emulsion and water.
Pros of Missha Perfect Lip and Eye Makeup Remover:
- Comes in a good size, leak-proof bottle.
- Easily available online and on several other websites that sell Korean brands.
- Quantity would last a while.
- Formulation is like that of a micellar water and oils in it help break down the water proof makeup.
- Does not irritate my eyes or the area around it.
- It contains Cornflower, False Daisy and Borage extracts that provide care to the sensitive lip and eye areas.
- It comes in 4 different variants.
Cons of Missha Perfect Lip and Eye Makeup Remover:
- The bottle opening causes a lot of spillage and wastage of product.
This product did impress me, it removed my eye makeup without irritating my eyes. It is comparable to cleansing balms. I recommend it to those who are on the lookout for an affordable well performing micellar water and wear heavy eye makeup.
