For past one year, I have been dabbling with skincare products that contain snail secretion. I have tried snail serum by Cosrx, eye cream by Benton, face wash by Mizon and so on. I had never tried a face cream containing snail mucous, so added one such kind of cream to my latest Korean skincare haul. As I have mentioned in my previous face cream posts, I shell out extra money on my face cream and my eye cream. Face masks and lip balms can be from drugstore brands, but for the former two, for me has to be from a trusted brand. I have tried face creams by Philosophy, Estee Lauder, Peter Thomas Roth and so on. This is the first time I tried and tested a face cream by Mizon.

My Experience with Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream:
Snail secretion became famous as a skin care ingredient after Korean brands started including it in their skincare products, especially those meant to combat ageing. This cream contains 90% secretion filtrate from black snails. These snails are known for their ability to survive in harsh environments. Black Snail Mucin delivers intense anti-aging and hydrating benefits to skin. This product comes in a 75 ml volume jar. The jar and the lid is black in color – in sync to the “black snail secretion” as the selling point. This jar is a sturdy, leak-proof and I admire its simplicity.
This face cream has a long list of ingredients. Fortunately, most of them are meant for skincare and a very few of them are for preservation and texture purposes. Apart from snail secretion, it also contains olive oil, panthenol, sunflower seed oil, and shea butter, which also helps to smooth out fine lines and make skin supple and hydrated. It also contains niacinamide, and adenosine, which are known for their skin brightening properties. Apart from these, it also contains some interesting plant-based ingredients such as cocoa extract, garlic (a natural antiseptic), grape extract, and mushroom extract, to name a few. This cream claims to work wonders on skin, from treating pores and blemishes, brightening scars, reducing wrinkles, moisturizing skin, to boosting elasticity.
I use this face cream as the last step of my skincare routine. It can be used both AM and PM but since it a little on the heavier side, I use it as part of my night-time skincare routine only. I Massage and/or pat the product into my skin until fully absorbed. It leaves a layer of moisture on my skin and it is perfect for my super dry skin. For oily skin people, this cream might be a bit too heavy.
With regular use, I have noticed that it has definitely made my skin brighter and a little less dry than usual. It does reduce the appearance of scars and hyperpigmentation but it takes a while to notice fading of these ailments. I did not notice a dramatic change in my pore size, but it did make my skin smoother and more hydrated and this in long term will reduce fine lines and skin elasticity. This cream does not cause acne to me but oily skin people might need to be a little cautious and test it before including it in their skincare routine.

- Easily available in drugstores and online.
- It is high on moisture content but does not cause acne.
- Made my skin smoother and more hydrated.
- Gradually reduces scars and hyperpigmentation.
- Contains some amazing and unique skincare ingredients.
Cons of Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream:
- Can be pricey for some (especially if bought in INR).
- It is high on oil content and people with oily skin need to be a little cautious while using it and see it is comedogenic for them.
Would I Repurchase Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream?
It is a good skin cream which worked well for me. It has high content of oil and moisture which my super dry skin desire. It is a perfect last step in my might time skin care routine. It has made my skin brighter and more hydrated and I do recommend it to others.
