I am rather new to the concept of using acids for skin care because any kind of “acid” does sound a little intimidating and give an impression that they might hurt skin. Fruit acids and those that naturally occur in our skin are beneficial to maintain skin elasticity and moisture. When used in the right concentration and in combination with right co-ingredients they prove beneficial for skin. I have been using snail serum for past several months and recently switched it with this hyaluronic acid serum.

My Experience with Mizon Hyaluronic Acid 100 serum:
Hyaluronic acid is a key ingredient in most Korean anti-aging products and now other brands worldwide have started incorporating this ingredient in their skin care products as well. There are so many face serums available in Sephora and Ulta that it is hard to pick just one. Also, beauty experts rave about several different kind of serums that I found hard to narrow my search, but I settled for the one with hydrating and anti-aging properties. Face serums are essential because, they are fast acting and more concentrated than face moisturizers. This face serum is lightweight, silky to touch and absorbs into the skin immediately without leaving any kind of trace behind.
The packaging of this product is pretty and practical. It comes in a 30 ml glass bottle which is not too heavy but still feels high end. It has a dropper on end which sits snugly in the tiny opening to make sure that the serum does not attract dust and remains sterile.
It’s second key ingredient is Sodium Hyaluronate which is the source of hyaluronic acid. This acid is a natural humectant that is it has the potency to hold moisture and adds hydration to skin. A hydrated skin has a youthful appearance and it prevents premature aging. However, if hyaluronic acid is used while residing in dry and acrid regions, it starts to absorb moisture from skin itself and eventually leaves it extremely dry.
I use this serum as part of my 10 step Korean skin care routine. I use it after cleanser, toner and essence. The product has no fragrance, it is lightweight and easy to spread on face. Just a couple of drops are enough to cover the face. It does not interfere with the following skin care steps. It is a slow working formula, but with regular usage, I noticed that even without a moisturizer my skin does not dry out as much as it used to. I recommend it to those who have patience with slow working skin care products.

- It is a slow acting product and might take weeks to show any appreciable skin improvement and even then, the results are not that dramatic.
