I have of lately been using less and less conditioners and have started to use hair masks more. I have tried a few hair masks from Montagne Jeunesse, and wanted to try the last variant they have in this hair care range too. So, today’s review is about Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Manuka Honey Rescue Masque.

My Experience with Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Manuka Honey Rescue Masque:

I have always stayed away from honey for my hair. The elders in the family had always told me that touching honey to hair makes it white. But, of lately, I have been hearing so many beauty benefits of honey and even though I have never applied honey on hair, this product wanted me to do the crime. So I started using this hair mask.

The mask comes in a 25ml sachet. I have shoulder length hair and I use it for 3 times. The texture is creamy and light pale yellow in color. The smell is similar to honey. The fragrance stays on the hair for one day and then wears off. The mask has to be applied like a conditioner and can be used on hair and roots both. I leave the mask on for about 5-10 minutes and then wash it off. As suggested on their website, you can try wrapping a shower cap or a towel and get the sauna effect, but this turned out to make my hair oily so I skip this part. My hair immediately felt soft while I was rinsing this mask off. The mask has 3 main ingredients: coconut, honey and abyssinian oil.

The mask mainly claims to strengthen and repair the hair, and is targeted for people who have dry hair and damaged roots. I have split ends and thus I make a generous application on the ends and use the remaining to the scalp. The mask makes hair very smooth and I use the mask once a week. I noticed that the hair fall is significantly reduced. I have not used any other conditioner or treatment during this period. I do believe to some point that the new shampoo I have been using (review coming soon) is also taking a small part in reducing the hair fall, but I also believe that alone it wouldn’t have done the trick and the mask has played a role too. My hair feels very soft to touch and there is zero tangles. Also, my hair looks very shiny and there is no frizz.

The mask also keeps the hair’s natural texture intact and this is something I love about these hair masks. The hair remains smooth and easy to touch almost the whole week with shampooing twice in between the cycle. While there are a lot of positive points to it, the presence of oil in the mask ruins this product for me! Abyssinian is a luxury oil and coconut is known for its several benefits, but this makes my hair look very oily and the hair is oily within a few hours of drying. So, by the second day, my hair looks limp and oiled. This is a must-try for people with dry hair, but not for someone like me.
