Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment

Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment

Hi Ladies,

This is my second purchase from Montagne Jeunesse.  I don’t use a hair mask at the moment even though I use a hair treatment from L’Oreal on and off.  Since I had styled my hair often in the past year, both chemically and through heat styling, I felt like pampering my hair with a little DIY treatment. I was attracted to this hair treatment as it contained Chocolate  .  However I was confused over how chocolate can benefit hair.

Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment

Product Description:

Oozing with natural minerals, immerse your hair in strengthening chocolate, nourishing honey and ancient kukui oil. Infused to protect, moisturise and soften for silky, glossy hair. Deep condition with this treat weekly.

Price:

$3.99.

Directions For Use:

Chocolate mask

Shampoo hair before use. Apply the Chocolate Infusion to your hair and wait 2-5 minutes for the ingredients to deeply condition your hair. Rinse off and experience silky, glossy hair. Use weekly.

The directions did not mention the use of conditioner, so I skipped the conditioner and used the treatment straightaway after shampooing and squeezing out excess water.

Ingredients:

Ingredients

This product contains pathenol(Vitamin B5)wheat germ oil, Cocoa powder, honey cocoa seed butter, milk and kukui seed oil among others .Since Kukui seed oil is really new to me, I did a search and found the following :

Kukui seed oil is also known as candlenut oil. This originates in Hawaii and is widely used in Malaysia and Indonesia and is valued as an emollient, primarily in skincare products. This contains oleic acid which helps it get absorbed into skin/hair easily. (Wow!)

My Take on Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment:

Chocolate

When I opened the sachet, my first impression was “chocolate frosting.”  I made chocolate fudge cake the other day and this had the exact consistency, colour and smell of chocolate frosting :eat: I washed my hair with my L’Occitane shampoo, squeezed out water and applied the mask. I have just below shoulder length hair and this treatment can be used twice. Please see below how much I used this time.

Montagne Jeunesse

I applied the treatment and waited for five minutes.  I felt like a chocolate cake 😛 :happydance:  When I started to wash off my hair, I could feel that my hair was well conditioned and smooth. After drying my hair, the chocolate fragrance had toned down a lot and there was only a slight smell of chocolate (imagine me going to the office smelling like a chocolate cake topped with fudge frosting 😛 , thank God :worship: ).  My hair was frizz free, smooth and the most evident fact was that my hair had more volume, just like after using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. However, the next day, it started to become a bit dry and frizzy, but nothing to complain too much about.

Having said all this, I want to make a small comparison here. The hair masks /treatments I have used before this are the Oriflame Rice Milk Mask, Lush H’Suan Wen Hua Hair Moisturizer and The Body Shop Rainforest Hair Butter.  This Montagne Jeunesse hair treatment gave me same results as the Oriflame Mask and performed better than The Body Shop butter; however, my favourite out of all this is still is the Lush H’suan Wen Hua Hair Mask.

Pros of Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment:

  • Moisturises hair well and reduces frizzy hair.
  • Smells of chocolate 😛
  • Makes hair smoother and well behaved.
  • Montagne Jeunesse does not add harmful chemicals in any of their products.
  • Product is not tested on animals and is suitable for vegetarians.
  • I am pretty impressed with the “Kakaui oil” in this product, because I didn’t know of it before.

Cons of Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment:

  • Might not be conditioning enough if you have extremely frizzy hair.
  • Limited availability in India.
  • There are other hair treatments/hair masks in the market, which perform equally well with less cost per use.

IMBB Rating:

I will give this product 3.75/5

Will I Purchase Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Infusion Intense Conditioning Hair Treatment?

I might as I really like this product, but I might look around for a more economical hair treatment with cost/use ratio. O:)
