I bought 9 eyeshadows from the brand “Morphe.” I have already tried and tested 7 of those. I have been reviewing them as I form an opinion about them. I have previously reviewed these shades on IMBB – Bitter, Stunner, Flawless, and Tipsy. In this post, I would be reviewing the shade “Secretive.”

My Experience with Morphe ES71 Secretive Eyeshadow:
These single eyeshadows by Moprhe come securely packed in a hard cardboard case and all of them arrived safely without any damages. The product is pressed in an aluminium pan and I was glad to see that for a such low price, Morphe provides a generous amount of product in the pan. The pan is deeper than the usual single eyeshadows that I have.
“Secretive” is matte, plump, brown and is good to add just a tinge of color to the eyes or create a colorful smokey eye look. I pick up this shade with a flat brush and pack on the eyelid and build up the color as needed. I also pick up a little bit of this shade on a pointed brush to apply it into my eye socket.
Unlike most shades by Morphe that I have tried, this shade does not follow “little goes a long way” formula. It is not as pigmented as I had hoped it to be. It gives a poor color payoff and needs quite a lot of product to show up on my lids. It also needs a good primer underneath to stay put and not crease too much. When used without a primer, it is barely visible at the end of the day. Apart from using it on my lids, I also use this color to blend out the khol on my waterline and give a more colorful look to my eyes.
Like I have mentioned before, not all colors are meant for every skin tone and we have to be mindful of the color we apply. This color will complement our skin tones but not all will be comfortable wearing it (some don’t prefer too much color). Most of the eyeshadows by Morphe are well pigmented and have a good color payoff but this one falls short in this regard. The product is decently priced and comes in a study, round-shaped aluminium pan, and most importantly, it can be attached in custom eyeshadow palette. I usually stick a magnet behind my single eyeshadow pans and attach them to an aluminium pencil case.
Pros of Morphe ES71 Secretive Eyeshadow:
- Packaging is very sturdy and stays intact during shipping.
- Comes in a good-sized aluminium pan. The product quantity is appreciable for the money paid.
- The color of the shade is perfect for adding color to lids and blending khol on the water line to add more color to the overall eye makeup.
- With a good primer underneath, it has a staying power of 6-8 hours.
- Affordable, perfect for making a custom eyeshadow palette.
Cons of Morphe ES71 Secretive Eyeshadow:
- Will start to fade after 3-4 hours; for better wear time, a good eyeshadow primer is required.
- Not as pigmented as other colors from Morphe.
- Has a poor color payoff compared to other shades that I have from this range.
Would I Recommend Morphe ES71 Secretive Eyeshadow?
It is a beautiful color to add a dash of color to face. It is affordable and will complement all the skin tones. It does have a poor color payoff and not as good as some other shades.
