In the fall of 2018, I reviewed a few Morphe lip products and in the spring of of 2019, I bought a few more shades. In this post, I am reviewing a matte finish lip crayon – it’s the Morphe Lip Crayon TFW. I have tried several single eyeshadows and lip liners from Morphe and have had a good experience with them and decided to try out other products by this brand as well. So, to my recent Morphe haul, I added a few lip products as well. I use brown and red shade lip liners and lipsticks the most because they complement my skin tone the most. Apart from these lipsticks by Morphe, I have tried several other makeup products from this brand. Most products have received good reviews from me. I enjoyed wearing this lip crayon and found it a little less drying than the matt lipsticks from Morphe.
Speak your mind. Make a statement. Say it your way with this collection of retractable, soft matte lip crayons that glide on smooth and creamy for comfortable wear. Each deeply pigmented shade—from subtly stunning nudes to poppin’ bolds—is made for turning heads and dropping mics. You know, like you do.
My Experience with Morphe Lip Crayon TFW:
The product comes in a matte black tube packaging with “Morphe” written on the side in white color font. The finish of the tube is like lip crayon from NARS and the plastic is sturdy, but it is not as high end as NARS – NARS packaging feels higher end. The crayons are twist-up kind and no product gets wasted with sharpening of the product. The base of the tube is meant to twist up the product and is in the shade of the lip product.
I enjoy trying the products from Morphe. It is a brand that has been made popular by several youtube makeup gurus and collaborations with them. It has some amazing makeup products and that is why I am watching out for their new launches. In the past, I have tried and reviewed several makeup products by this brand. Most of them performed well and received good reviews from me. The products from this brand perform well, they are affordable and do not harm my skin.
This lip crayon’s shade has been named “TFW” and all the shades are named with such acronym. Morphe Lip Crayon TFW is described as burnt sienna – in its natural state, it is an earth pigment containing iron oxide and manganese oxide. In its natural state, it is yellow-brown and is called as raw sienna. When heated, it becomes a reddish brown shade and is then called “burnt sienna.” The color of this crayon is a cool-toned red – brown and is a perfect color for my skin tone without looking too garish.
This lip crayon has a soft matte finish that glides on smoothly even on dry lips, it is creamy and comfortable to wear even though it is matte and has a dry texture. It gives a smooth, streak-less application in one go and covers my lip pigmentation well. It can be dabbed on lips as well just to add a natural tint to lips. It does not tug or pull on lips during application or cause any kind of discomfort. The finish of the product is matte velvet but creamier than liquid lipstick. All matte finish lipsticks dry out my lips, but I found that this lip crayon dried my lips a little less than matte lipsticks from Morphe. This lip crayon is comfortable to wear, is long lasting even through meals, we get generous amount of product for the money paid and this color looks nice on both light and dark skin tones. Red-browns are my go to lip colors and I wear them most of the time.
They are affordable and for a drugstore product they perform well. This lip color does not flake off even after hours of application which is a great pro for a lip product with matt finish. The shade is the kind I usually reach for and I am happy that it suits my skin tone (it will work for both cool and warm undertones) and I do recommend it to others as well. It can be easily removed with a makeup removing wipe. It does not have a strong fragrance and does not irritate my lips.
Pros of Morphe Lip Crayon TFW:
- An affordable lip crayon, it performs well, and the shade is a beautiful burnt sienna color which will go well on both cool and warm undertones.
- The packaging is well made and sturdy.
- Soft matte finish, comfortable to wear.
- Does not have a strong fragrance or smell too “waxy.” It is an essential lip product feature for me.
- Does not flake off or excessively dry out my lips. It is more moisturizing and hydrating than the matt lipsticks from Morphe.
- It has 20 color variants and I am sure Morphe will launch more shades as the popularity of this product increases.
- The shade will suit almost all types of skin tones (both warm and cool tones can complement this color for a day look or a night out).
Cons of Morphe Lip Crayon TFW:
- There is no con of this product , at least for me. I do recommend it to others and especially this shade
Do I Recommend Morphe Lip Crayon TFW?
I recommend this product to those who are on the lookout for an affordable lip crayon and find the ones by NARS too expensive. The shade is a red brown color and the color will suit most skin tones (cool and warm alike). It can be worn as day look or for a night out. Overall, I do recommend this product to the readers.
