I bought two lip liners as a part of my Morphe haul. This article is the review of the second shade, Bamboo. I always wear a lip liner underneath my lipsticks or liquid lipsticks or even a lip gloss. It might seem unnecessary to some but have noticed that carefully applied lip liner amplifies the color of the lipstick and prolongs its wear time. As much as I am on the lookout for a good cream or a liquid lipstick, I am also on the lookout for a good and affordable lip liner. These lip liners by Morphe offer a good substitute to more expensive lip liner options.
Get a hold of our creamy Color Pencils for powerfully pigmented color that glides on and slays on. From on-point neutrals to beyond-bold gems, you’ll never run out of ways to line and define your eyes and lips. Go on and draw some attention your way. We dare you.
My Experience with Morphe Color Pencil Bamboo:
The product comes in a sharpenable pencil form. The outer coating of the pencil is matte black in color and gives it an expensive look (its look is comparable to the one by MAC). Another commendable feature of this product is the quantity. The pencil is longer than the usual lip liner pencils and the only lip liner that I have used as long as the one by Morphe is the one by NARS.
This product comes in 70 different shades and the best part is that this brand thought of almost all the skin tones and tried to cover a wide range of colors and shades so that everyone can find at least one color that will suit their needs and their skin tone. Also, they have some fun colors such as green, blue, purple and black for some of us who love gothic looks.
The shade of this lip liner is termed as soft sand. This is the shade which all the Caucasian beauty bloggers define as nude. For them and people with similar skin tones, this lipliner will pair well with dark eye makeup or smokey eye look. It has neutral undertones and can be worn by both cool and warm tone beauties.
This shade is the perfect color to achieve a nude lip look for fair skinned beauties. For my skin tone or darker, it is too pale and would not even recommend using it as a lip base because it will alter the color of a dark lipstick and not give the desired shade to the lips.
Apart from the shade of the lip liner, I could not find any obvious cons with this product. It is very soft and smooth to apply and I was surprised how well it glided on the lips. It gave an opaque finish in one go and gave a soft matte finish. After using the lip liner couple of times, it needs to be sharpened to dispense the product.
Because of the super soft nature of the product, we have to be careful while sharpening it to avoid wastage or accidental breaking of the tip. In conclusion, I would say that I am really happy with the performance of this product but I will recommend this shade only for pale skin tones. Others who dare to bare unique looks can also give this shade a try.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with these Morphe beauties. They are affordable, have good color pay off, don’t dry out lips and do add to the color and wear time of the lipstick. It can be bought in retail stores but most of the Morphe products are always sold out so we have to buy them online.

IMBB Rating: 4/5
Verdict: Morphe has received raving reviews from Youtube makeup gurus and I can see why. Thier products are affordable and perform well. I do recommend these lip liners to the readers, especially if they can pull off nude lips. For people with my skin tone or similar to mine, I would ask them to be a little cautious of this particular shade.
