MUA Black Intense Colour Eye Liner

Hello my loves!!

Today I will be reviewing an eye liner for a change. It is from Make up Academy (MUA) called the intense color eye liner in Jet Black! Black liner is a must-have in everyone’s vanity; it just doubles up the glam quotient!! And if you recently read Kareena’s interview she said “Kajal makes me look glamorous”!! 😉 And who doesn’t want to be as glamorous as Kareena? 😀

I have a love-hate relationship with MUA, some products are Oh-so-good while the others are just pretty in that pan, and I don’t like them on my face! To be very honest, MUA does offer some good products, for the price that they are, they deliver quality while some don’t, but you cannot expect a drugstore brand to do wonders all the time!!

So, let’s see if this liner was a hit or a miss! 😉

Price:

It is pretty cheap at 1.00 pound .

Packaging:

It comes in the usual black pencil packaging teamed up with a sharpener lid! I find the sharpener very convenient to use!! It has the shade name written on the pencil beside the brand name! I usually carry this around in my make-up bag.

Texture:

If you notice in the pictures, I’ve used the pencil quite a lot, the brand name does not show anymore, only the A from MUA is visible, please excuse that! This pencil is really creamy in texture; it just glides on really smoothly. It is not waterproof though!! I use this as my Smokey eye base more than kohl, and it works well that way too!!

Color:

I am always trying out new kajals because I want intensity!! I like the heavy eye liner look…This liner is jet black, but smudges very easily, that’s where I’m usually put off! The color is just the way I like it, but smudging is something I cannot stand, and I’m sure neither of you can!! But, for the extremely low price tag, I cannot complain! :-/

Color Pay-Off:

The color pay off is pretty good, it is really pigmented and I like that! However, when I it as a liner on the lash line, it usually transfers to my brow bone!! But, then again, for a drugstore brand, I surely cannot expect perfection!

Staying power: It stays put for a few hours, about 3-4 hours precisely and then begins to fade! It does not fade completely though, leaves behind some color on the eye! I don’t find that bothersome, you can always re-apply to your heart’s content! My sister used this in the Dubai heat, and Oh-man!! She just couldn’t manage to have this on even for half hour!!

• Intense Black color
• Good pigmentation
• Has a creamy texture
• Works great as a base for Smokey eyes
• Pocket-friendly

Cons of the MUA Intense Colour Eye Liner in Jet Black:

•  Smudges like crazy
•  The staying power is limited to 3-4 hours
• Availability
•  Not waterproof
•  It transfers to other areas
•  Won’t last in the hot weather.

Do I recommend the MUA Intense Colour Eye Liner in Jet Black?

This has a dreamy creamy texture, but I really repel the smudging!!! So, give this a pass, even though it’s super affordable!

Would I repurchase the MUA Intense Colour Eye Liner in Jet Black?

Not really! I prefer the Maybelline Colossal Kajal over this one!
