MUA Fashionista Catwalk 360 Pressed Powder Compact Review

Writing for IMBB is a very special part of my life; I can’t explain it in words. I have been away from IMBB writing and commenting for about two weeks may be and I feel like several decades have passed without being lively. I am not exaggerating; these words I am typing are coming straight from my heart. Everyone associated with IMBB had a life outside and this blog (though IMBB is lot more than a blog), has connected us like a family. Thank you for everything!

MUA Fashionista Catwalk 360 Pressed Powder Compact

Product Description:

In true Fashionista style, each compact transforms into a 360 degree swivel hand mirror. Satin touch, light weight, smooth and blendable pressed powder that gives shine free, flawless finish for an immaculate complexion.

Ingredients:

MUA Fashionista Catwalk 360 Pressed Powder Compact

Price:

£6-8 for 6 g (varies from place to place and I don’t remember for how much I purchased this).

Packaging:

Though Makeup Academy is a drugstore brand, but the range Fashionista has well packaged products. This Fashionista Catwalk 360 Pressed Powder Compact carries a classy packaging. Enclosed in a hard plastic transparent box, inside is a card-board that carried essential descriptions about the product. The compact itself is very pretty; black and silver compact case with a 2”x3” size bog swivel mirror, a separate compartment for soft sponge and the soft silky pressed powder! I simply loved it!

My Experience with MUA Fashionista Catwalk 360 Pressed Powder Compact:

The name of the product is a mouthful, truly! Being NC-25 and NC-30 in summers, I chose the shade “Fair.” Also because when I dab a pressed powder without any foundation, I want it to make me look radiant, fresh and a bit glowing with one tone fair complexion. With temperatures reaching beyond 40 C here, it has become really very difficult to look radiant and keep the skin shine free.

Coming to the product, the pressed powder is extremely finely milled and has a really soft and smooth texture. The feel of the pressed powder is very silky and makes me feel very special when I apply it.  It is well compacted and that results in zero fallout in the pan, which keeps this lovely pan mess-free all the time, but decent quantity comes off on sponge or on face brush with just one single stroke. It is not hard.  The coverage is not too sheer, but still I can’t claim that it covers blemishes and zits in a decent manner. It for sure adds a glow and radiance to my skin but for coverage of blemishes, scars and acne marks or zits, using a separate concealer underneath is advisable, if you are solely relying on the compact for the look.

This pressed powder is very compatible to set out foundation and concealer. It stays for good 4 hours if used alone and then a re-application is required. The oil and shine on t-zone stays controlled for 3-4 hours on average. Totally non-chalky, if you try to build the coverage with multiple applications, this will never leave you looking cakey. The finial finish turns out to be completely natural. It has never clogged pores and I have observed no break outs with the usage. The drawback is that it contains no SPF factor, which means you have to use a sun protection separately because in this scorching heat, there is no chance you can step out without it.

The sponge is good and decent.  It is very soft and supports well while travelling for applications, but gets dirty after a few applications. The prominent feature, the 360 swivel mirror, is quite large than any other one I have ever came across. It is really helpful when I am travelling and when I am late and have to apply the pressed powder in the car :P. I am going to keep the mirror forever.

Cons of MUA Fashionista Catwalk 360 Pressed Powder Compact:

  • You are mainly paying for the packaging because MUA is a budget-friendly brand and the price for 6 gm is not justified.

IMBB Rating:

4/5 (mainly because of no SPF).
