Hello Girls,

Today, I am here with another MUA lipstick, in shade 5.  Nowadays, I am going a little down with my health and the hectic schedule makes me tired and lazy, but somehow I find time to experiment with the products and bring my views about it for you all. Today, I am reviewing a lipstick from MUA in shade No. 5, it doesn’t have any shade name, only the number.  It was lying in my stash for months and you know sometimes I become very lazy to review some products.  I had great expectations from the shade when I saw it online.  I thought it would be a nice pigmented pink shade.  It does look like a deep pink shade in the bullet, but it comes out as a totally different shade on the lips.  Do read on further to know more about it.

Product Details:

The lipstick comes in a simple black and silver color plastic body; it has a detachable pot of usable lipstick in the bottom. The packaging looks okay, but is not very sturdy.

My Take on MUA Lipstick in Shade 5:

Shade: The shade no. 5 is a very shimmery, pale baby pink color with concentrated shimmers in it.
Though the shimmer can be felt while pressing the lips together, they are not gritty and doesn’t look loud on the lips.  It’s a pretty pink shade and has a silvery sheen to it, which makes it appear pale.  Due to the shimmer, it looks way frosty. Thus, the color is kind of light and pale, and it will suit extremely fair or pinkish skin tones and will wash out dusky skin tones.

Texture and Pigmentation:  The lipstick is very balmy and smooth in texture, and glides easily on the lips. The lipstick is very moisturizing and feels very light on the lips, as if nothing is there.  I won’t criticize the pigmentation because of the pale color of the lipstick. The pigmentation is medium to buildable.  As the color is very light and pale, it needs at least 3-4 swipes for the color to show up perfectly and covers slightly pigmented lips. The color is easily buildable and layering doesn’t make the lipstick look cakey. The lipstick doesn’t acquire the thickness and opacity even with multiple swipes, so pigmented lips wouldn’t like it.

Staying Power:  This lipstick feels very slippery on the lips.  Because of the balmy, creamy, and slippery texture, it doesn’t manage to stay for more than 2 hours.  It doesn’t survive snacking. Even though it’s a shimmery lipstick, the shimmer doesn’t stick on the lips or spread everywhere.  They go away with the lipstick and can be easily removed with a makeup remover.

Pros of MUA Lipstick in Shade 5:

• A nice pretty baby pink shade (though the shimmer alters the natural beautiful color of the lipstick).
• The shimmer in the lipstick is concentrated, but not gritty, doesn’t feel harsh on the lips.
• Texture is very soft, creamy.
• Finish is really creamy and moisturizing.
• The pigmentation is medium to buildable.
• The shimmer looks muted on the lips and doesn’t stick on to the lips after the lipstick has gone.
• Glides very easily on the lips, without tugging.
• Feels very lightweight on the lips.

Cons of MUA Lipstick in Shade 5:

• The shade wouldn’t suit all skin tones, only very fair to medium skin beauties can carry it off, without looking pale.
• The shimmer alters the beautiful pink shade of the lipstick.
• The shade lacks thickness and opacity.
• Staying power is very low; it stays for 2 hours without any eating or drinking.
• Easily melts in heat.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase MUA Lipstick in Shade 5?

I would recommend this pretty pink shade only to extremely fair skin tones or women with pinkish undertones.  This is a different n*de pink kind of shade.  I will buy the other shades in the creme lipstick range.
